Publisher's summary

Her powers can make the elements change...but Elena will never change how the Fae see her.

Half-breed. The lowest of low. Halven, the forbidden offspring produced by the mating of a Fae and a human.

The only thing Fae despise more than Halven—well, nothing.

When a deadly virus sweeps their world, killing immortal Fae, a secret about a royal bloodline is revealed.

The half-breed holds the key to their survival.

And on her 18th birthday, Elena discovers a world of warring Faery kingdoms and her fateful place in it...among her enemies.

If only she could unlock her powers.

With no one to trust, she turns to the beautiful, brilliant boy next door. But Derek has secrets of his own.

He’s a half-breed like her. And his father is the cruel king who wants Elena dead. At all costs.

The last in line of a powerful Fae, she refuses to use her magic for those who hate her. But when she discovers her mother is still alive, she'll do whatever it takes to earn her mother’s freedom.

Even agree to help the enemy.

Love story and parental struggles, good story

The story depicted betrayal, young love, and a secret society. All very delicious storylines that were read beautifully. I finished the book in 2 days, It would've been finished in 1 day but, my family needs some of my attention (smile).

Not my favorite

I didn't care for this one. I tried. It would be great for teenagers though.

Good listen

Very enjoyable. Good store development, wish it was a series. Love the narrator. Not much for words, so I'm filling the woird limit.

I enjoyed this series

Contrary to many reviews, I actually really enjoyed this book. Was it cheesy at points? Yes, but it was cute cheesy I thought. I like the different “Fae” in this series compared to other Fae. I also absolutely adore this narrator. I know it says Lydia Sanders but it has to be Elizabeth Evans under a different name. It is 100% her voice and I went to a few other books I have that she narrated to listen and check and it’s definitely her. She is one of my absolute favorite narrators so as soon as I started the book and heard her I knew I would listen no matter what the reviews looked like. I listen at least 1.4 speed on all books so I didn’t notice any pauses ect.

Very captivating story and narration

If you could sum up Fates Divided in three words, what would they be?

Unexpected wonderful book

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fates Divided?

One memorable moment was right from the beginning with Elena discovering her powers. There are so many memorable moments in this book.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Evans – was your favorite?

Elizabeth Evens did a wonderful job with changing of her voice for each of the different characters it is not easy to decide but I really liked how she portrayed Derek.

Any additional comments?

I am not a fan of paranormal books but I love the Blue Series by this author so when I had the opportunity to both read and listen to this book I took the chance. I am very happy that I did. Right from the start, I was drawn into the story and didn’t want to stop reading or listening. The unknown of what was going to happen with the different twist thrown in really kept this book on track for me. The interaction of the characters in both worlds along with the beliefs and how people treated others brought the book back to reality. I wasn’t expecting several turn of events and at times thought I knew what was going to happen to be pleasantly surprised that I was not correct. I will most definitely be reading the next book in this series and listening to it if Elizabeth Evans does the narration. I found listening to the story was more enjoyable than when I read the book a year ago. The narration of this already great story just put it over the top. I was able to visualize more of the story and the way the narrator was able to change her voice for the different characters made it easy to listen along. You could also feel the emotions of the characters with the way the narrator read the story. You did not tire of listening to her at all. I do hope that Elena and Derek will have more in future books as they have more to their story as well.

liked it

The author has decent character build-up however the beginning of the book, regarding how the characters learn about the main plot is a bit underdeveloped in my opinion.

Out of this world!

So glad I hung in. The 1st few chapters were not my favorite. I had to get used to the third person narration being the same voice as the main character. Once I got past that, this story got me through a multi-state drive with loads of corn ... and I couldn’t wait to get back in the car the few times we stopped!
