Publisher's summary

Aislin Ferry and Jason Moros have only days until they will be called to account before the Keepers of the Afterlife. Yet as they race to restore order and make their case, their worlds fall into total disarray.

Mutiny within the fractured Ferry family threatens Aislin's hold on power and role as Charon. Meanwhile, the fearsome Lord of the Kere has family trouble of his own. Someone is unraveling the fabric of fate, and Moros suspects one of his supernatural siblings is behind the terrible bid to unleash Chaos.

Now unlikely allies, Aislin and Moros each need the other to escape the wrath of the Keepers. As the stakes rise, it becomes clear that protecting their respective empires is not the endgame. With the fate of all humanity dangling by a thread, Aislin and Moros must surrender completely to one another if they are to fight their common enemy. And as time runs out, someone must make the ultimate sacrifice.

A Beautiful Finale

To the remaining Ferry siblings and the destiny that holds them all. Steamy, sweet, warm, action packed... What more could you want in a series of novels. A well written trilogy with the first and final novels being breathtakingly wonderful and haunting.

Predictable at this point in the series.

I have enjoyed this author's take on mythology throughout this series and I have loved the characters, but I'm really disappointed by this final book and by this entire series overall. Honestly, the world-building has struggled since the beginning but I thought it might get better after the second installment. But no, and that is unfortunate because there is so much potential with this future dystopian Boston setting and all of the weird mythological stuff happening there.

This installment features Aislin Ferry and Jason Moros-both characters that I have enjoyed throughout the series. I was excited to see them get their time in the light, but sadly too much of their story has apparently been revealed in previous installments for there to be any real mystery here. I just didn't feel like there was anything new here except for sex between the two of them, so I lost interest very early. So I made the audiobook go faster just to get to the end and the resolution of the larger conflict, which felt predictable to me.

I kept thinking this trilogy would get better at some point along the way because it has some high ratings, especially on Goodreads. I was surprised by how graphic the sex scenes are for a story like this one; the sex scenes aren't consistent with the YA-fantasy feel of the rest of the story. The entire series has left me feeling this same way.

As far as the narration goes, every single sentence just felt overacted.

I listened to this audiobook by way of the Kindle Unlimited program and I wish that I had all of the time I invested in this series back so I could use it on something else. I just kept thinking that maybe it would get better before it ended and it just never did. This could have been so much fun.

Best in the trilogy

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Depending on the friend, yes. Its a bit graphic when it comes to the sexual liaisons, but the story is good and different. It definitely had some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. Overall, a solid way to pass the hours in the car.

What other book might you compare Fated to and why?

None come to mind.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Emily Foster?

Someone who learns how to differentiate between dramatic context and prose. Foster's reading indicated that every sentence, no matter how mundane, were crucial and striking. Trust me, they weren't.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not in the least.

I'm blown away by this series

I am so pleasantly surprised by how well written and entertaining this series was. I was hesitant to start this series but once I started I couldn't stop. The concept is so amazing and out of the box that I didn't want it to end. The final book in the series was by far my favorite but I loved them all. 5++++++++ stars for this amazing author and this wonderfully dark, sweet, entertaining and hot series. I'll definitely be reading more for this author soon!

loved it

really loved this trilogy. Sarah Fine's imagination is right up my street. I would have liked to have read/listened to a bit more about how things played out at the end but otherwise I think it was fab.

Brilliant

Fated the 3rd book of the guardians of fate series is by far the best if the three, it's brilliantly written with edge of your seat suspense, fast past and thrilling storylines that makes me breathless in anticipation and in the centre of it all is the unconditional love of a woman (Aislin Ferry/charon) to(Jason Moros/ lord of the kere). The narrative is excellent but I would have preferred to have a man to read Moros part but all in all this book is highly recommended x
