Fate and Kink

I enjoyed these more than I thought I would. The author takes you into the world of BDSM in a style I completely enjoyed. The main characters, Emily and Paul, are amazing together. Emily has loved Paul for years and resorts to lies and deception to finally get him. Paul takes Emily into his lifestyle slowly and gently.

The author also explains this lifestyle slowly and gently. I'm not saying the story isn't hot because it is very hot. This audible has something for anyone, the storyline is really good and sex scenes hot as hell.

The narrator is spot on with character voices and emotion.

Hardcore BDSM

If you enjoy BDSM you will LOVE this one. If you have any issues with BDSM this is not the book for you. It's well written but can be repetitive and it's very long with a ton of detail. The plot was decent and the narration was great.

FANTASTIC READS!

I absolutely loved these stories! I like that you get both stories in this book. The narration was great. It will keep you entertained. This author did a great job with the character builds and plot. I love this author's style of writing. This was not my first book by this author, I previously read the Demon Blessed series and enjoyed them as well. I can't wait to read more of her books! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Wow

I truly cannot find the words to describe this duology. It was so amazing and that transition between the books wow. I really really enjoyed this. The characters and story were so well developed. Nikki Sex did an awesome job on this story. And Guillaume Dubois did such an amazing job with the narration. Again wow. Seriously you need to listen to this. This is now one of my favorite audiobooks.

Fate and Kink: The Duology

Emily and Paul are old family friends, but she wants so much more. She has obsessed over Paul to the point that she schemes to change her appearance and have one night with him to get him out of her system. Yet the man who never in his life sleeps with a woman more than once becomes infatuated with the persona she has made in order to sleep with him and Emily does not know what to do. When Paul comes back to town all her plans unravel and everything hits the fan. Can Paul see Emily as the woman he wants or is their friendship ruined forever?

This story has a very Story of O feel to it. Even Emily herself sees how her love for Paul affects her decisions and actions and not in a good way. Paul is portrayed as a Dom, but he seems more like a bully. He decides that he is in love with Emily but continues to sexually train her to his needs without her consent and once she understands what is happening to her, she does not care or is already too far gone. Their story is very long and much of the information is repeated in each chapter. We are told numerous times that Paul worked as a club Dom, Emily loved Paul all her life, Paul has a beast inside him, Paul needs to be in charge, and he is training Emily to his needs and much more to the point that it gets annoying. The characters are very one dimensional and it seems the idea of a sub means that you just do whatever the Dom wants whether you like it or not and disregard your safety or feelings. When you get to actual plot it is all over the place with numerous things going on that just seem to be added for no reason. Most of the books are Paul and Emily’s sex scenes with little bits of plot thrown in. I enjoy dark erotic stories but this one fell short for me. I felt that it lacked a good story line and the characters had no depth or true emotions.

Hot and steamy story with great narration

This story was deliciously hot and I enjoyed listening to it. Emily decided to do whatever it takes to be with a man she loves, and Paul could not resist her kinky advances. I liked both main characters and enjoyed every appearance of Andre in the story. Narrator did a great job, he made this story a perfect listening experience with his sexy smooth voice. This was my first book by this author and narrator, and I am looking forward to more books created by this talented team.

Disappointed

Sorry, but Emily could do WAY better than Paul. He was absolutely awful and a giant douchebag. Lol. You can't change my mind. And the narrator's woman voice is so awkward and meek. His accents are great, but the story could have been so much better with a dual narration

narrator's female voice is terrible

i like the narrator until he speaks for the female MC. it was ridiculous and impossible for me to think she was anything but ridiculous herself. ruined the whole book.

Mixed feelings

The narrator, love his male voices and his range for them but his female voices it's okay. Now to the story book 1 I'm okay with completely but book two was a very extended epilogue. It was nice but the "conflict" could have been flushed out a lot more to make the second book more interesting along with all the juicy bits.

First book great, second meh

First was hot. The second book rehashes the last half of the first book. The exact storyline. I understand that with series, you have to account for new readers that stumble upon later books in the wrong order, but this is wasaaaaay too much - you don’t need hours of rehash. Also the second book, right in the beginning, could have a really a bad PTSD trigger for some people.

This book was very interesting and I enjoyed it a lot. This was a very well written story of learning to love and trust again. This book was emotional and very heart tugging. I would recommend this book if you love an emotional journey.

BDSM Erotic Romance

Fate by Nikki Sex is an erotic romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Guillaume Dubois. This is the first book in the Fate Duology.

This is the first book of Nikki’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was pulled in from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I liked the relationship that bloomed between Emily and Paul. Their relationship is a bit messy and unconventional but you can’t help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series Kink so I can get more of Emily and Paul’s story as he introduces her to the BDSM lifestyle.

Guillaume did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

Note: I tend to not like listening to audiobooks at normal speed. I listened at x2 speed and I thought it was the perfect speed for the narration.

This is the second book of Nikki’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved getting more of Paul and Emily’s story. I really liked that the book was a great introduction to the BDSM world as both Paul and Emily found how their relationship will work with the lifestyle. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the story. It really brought the story to life.

Guillaume did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

Pleasantly Surprised

Nikki sex is always so real. Real issues and real ways to handle them. I just love her insight on things. Sometimes there is a little bit too much description for my taste but I still enjoyed this book.
Kink
I feel like the first half of this book is sub training in a lot of detail. I ended up really enjoying this story. I was surprised by who was doing what. Things got interesting by the end and I was pleasantly surprised. The narration was great.

A great story of infatuation turning to love. I enjoyed listening to this fast pace book. This is the first book of Nikki Sex that I have listen to. This storyline is definitely erotic and sexy as hell.
The narrator does a great job with the characters and voices of each character.

Wow, this book is so explicit! Such details in Nikki’s writing. Excellent storyline, great emotion. Don’t listen to it in public! You will be squirming everywhere! Guillaume is perfect for this role.

Kink
This is such a great second book. The characters are so intense and interesting. I love how Nikki analyses the feelings. The narration is fantastic.

Sexy and thought provoking

I have a lot of complex thoughts about these two books. It dealt with views on love, infatuation, deception, forgiveness, mental illness and of course BDSM. There were several times I had to stop listening to give myself time to wrap my head around different topics and aspects of this book. There were other times I found myself actually yelling at the characters. It really pulled me in. As is usual with books by Nikki Sex, the sex scenes are intense, graphic and so, so hot!! She's got a special talent for writing those scenes for sure! Overall I did really enjoy these books. I can't wait to get my hands on more of Nikki's work!!

Love the theme of this book!

This is a tale of a couple who have known each other most all of their lives. Emily fell in love with Paul a long time ago and can’t get him out of her mind. Paul was her brothers best friend and thought of Emily as a little sister. The fact that Emily feels like she has to deceive him to get him out of her system... doesn’t bode well!

Paul doesn’t recognize her... and Emily’s plan doesn’t work! How does Paul find out it was her??? You’ll have to listen to find out. I loved Fate! I wasn’t prepared for hard core Paul and his beast in Kink... so I wasn’t as fond of Paul in Kink. I liked him better by the end. I liked the story line and their exploration... don’t get me wrong.. I just wasn’t prepared for the beast, as they call it.

This was my first Guillaume Dubois listen. I had difficulty with pronunciation of a few words, particularly and regularly for example, but thought he did very well with the different voices, male and female, and the different accents.

Lots of sexy time

If you are looking for one couple that has a lot of sexy time this is the book for you. I will say at some points the story is slow, but it is totally worth the wait. Guillaume Dubois has an amazing deep and dominant voice, and it helps drive the story along.

And Then Came Andre

Audiobook review. When I first started this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect or even if it would be for me. The beginning depicted a heroine that appeared to be getting validation from how her lifelong crush, our hero, saw her physically. She made changes to herself to make herself more appealing to him. It involved some deception on her part and little regret for the effect of her actions.

As the story went along there was a lot of internalizing. The relationship between two perceived strangers moved rather quickly, evidenced by the introduction of “love” early on. Then we get introduced to Andre and my interest was peaked. The contrast offered by the more experienced man shed light into the personalities that had been crafted for the main characters. He was absolutely vital to the story. He was the catalyst for growth. The story fell into a steady flow from there on. Ultimately, Paul was a little self centered for my liking, his focus even in scenes was primarily on his pay off in my opinion but I liked Emily’s glimpses of strength and together they seemed to balance out.

The narrator had a French lilt when pronouncing words like “particularly”, “brittle”, and “regularly” but his English was otherwise clear. His French gave Andre an absolutely irresistible voice. It was spectacular 🔥. The pace was a bit on the slower side so the 2x speed really worked for me. He had a strong tone.

I am definitely interested in finding out more about Andre and what makes him tick.
