Publisher's Summary

In the player-versus-player MMORPG, Fantasy Realms Online, people live out the fantasies they can't in real life, no matter how bloody or sexy they might be, and Kromgorn the Barbarian is no exception. He and his guildies make constant warfare against their rivals in the Secret Order, a guild led by the dark Lich-Lord, who's also rumored to be a crazy hacker in real life, and they make fun of players who just use the game for stupid things like getting laid.

But when the Lich-Lord releases a powerful spell that traps most of the players in the game permanently, Kromgorn accidentally winds up stuck in the avatar of his friend, Lacey - a stupid, low-level female character that was designed exclusively to get down and dirty with the in-game pleasure system. Even worse, he gets captured by the orcs and thrown into their harem dungeon, where he finds he's powerless to resist his captors! The developers really modeled female bodies correctly in this game, and it's humiliating to have to go from being a high-level barbarian to a simpering little harem girl.

With his guild drawing closer to an epic encounter with the Lich-Lord, they need all the high-level players they can get! Will Krom figure out a way to get himself out of this useless body and get back in time to help his friends, or will he be stuck forever working on his back in a dirty harem dungeon? The only way out of this mess might be to give in to his situation and embrace his new body in order to outmaneuver his foes.

Who knows? He might even end up enjoying himself....

With hours of humorous, gender-swapped fantasy action and some very steamy scenes, this audiobook is intended for mature audiences who enjoy FF and MF encounters with lots of gender-bending fun.

Surprisingly fun

This is a nice parody of what would happen with your typical griefer and duebro getting stuck in a different sort of class in an MMORPG. Being a courtesan is a fate worse than death for your typical dumb fighter jock but starts to work out for our hero(ine?). The handling of the actual mechanics of an RPG works quite well in the text. Some may be put off by the premise but I thought it was fun. The narrator nicely captures the voice a long time gamer might have.

My only complaint? A tank and DPS class? OP!

I got this audiobook in exchange for a review.

Good book and good performance by the narrator

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review with my honest opinions.

I came into this audiobook having read the book on kindle a few months ago and enjoyed it then, as both an avid reader of books and listener of audiobooks I'm used to swapping between titles often and getting used to different narrator styles.

At first it was abit strange having a male narrator knowing what the story contains but I commend the narrator on their performance as this was not an issue and it came out really good and they did justice to Alysons work.

LITRPG with a kinky twist

I live the LITRPG novels which is why I took this even though it is outside my normal
Listening comfort zone. That being said it was a kinky twist on the classic LITRPG theme. Gamers trapped in a game by a twisted player with delusions of grandeur, great magic skills in game and hacking skills in the real world. All this leads to a player trapped in the body of a female courtesan who must use all of her innate skills to the best of his/her ability to try and defeat the ouch/hacker. Not for young ears at all. Adult enjoyment with graphic scenes. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher

Going to have to play nice.

This is a short Audiobook, under four hours, and it is something that you can listen to in just one run all the way through. To be fair, I have no issue with the subject matter, but I had a few issues with the book.

First, and this is a sticking point for me, it seemed like Belle has no concept of what LitRPG or Gamelit is about. It comes across as if she saw it was a genre that was blowing up, and wanted in on the action. Nothing wrong with that, but if you do go into a new field, do some research and get a feel for how the characters act, what they use, and how they fit into the RPG gameworld. Just as an example, there was nothing crunchy about this. No stats, no leveling alerts, etc. The MC's best weapon was a level 60 sword, not how a gamer would describe it. The story, otherwise, would have fit in with a fantasy world.

Secondly, the narrator for this was all wrong. He does a decent job, but (in my mind) a far manlier and masculine voice was needed to add to the realism. Not that J.J. isn't a man, but he does not have a deep timbor or low growl that would have added some much needed gravitas to the story. He sounds more like Mario Cantone minus the manic energy.

The concept for this had a ton of opportunity for humor, and I think that Belle tried to find the funny, but if so she missed it on me, and I have been into comedy since I could talk. Again, a more masculine voice would have helped as the MC said "I just got kissed by a guy!"

As for the rest, it is a decent fantasy story that is easily enjoyed if you can see passed the little things I mentioned here. I'm not into erotica much, so those bits didn't bother me or turn me on. I came on board for the easily humorous aspects that could have been played up. That said, the story isn't bad, and is worth your 3 + hours.

Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Surprisingly good audiobook

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, going in, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, given the gender bending premise. As a fan of MMO's and the LitRPG genre, I was intrigued enough to give it a shot. I'm actually glad I did. The narration was great, and the characters were engaging. The game mechanics, though light, were interesting and well done. I could actually picture an adult oriented MMORPG trying a cortesan as a class. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't go into more detail. If you like LitRPG's and don't mind a fair amount of adult content, you should check this one out. I enjoyed it WAY more than I thought I would.

Good book

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was well written and easy to follow. It didn't end with everything solved, but it wasn't a cliff hanger, either. It wasn't deep and the villain wasn't fleshed out, but that isn't necessary with this kind of book. It's the perfect fun break from reality. I look forward to reading the sequel.

Brought me back to the old days of MMORPGs

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Going in to the material, I did expect to enjoy it. I am into the erotica, and I've been into online gaming for many years. This was my first experience with the LitRPG genre, and I feel this combination was perfect for me.

The major standout point here for me was the fact that the game actually felt like something I want to play, a big part of that is levels mean something. Our MC is not simply a max level raider, in fact there are very few max level characters within the entire player base from what we're told. This gives an excellent impression of relative power level between characters, as well as their dedication to the game. Equipment also seems to be handled more classically. Rather than getting caught up in a staff having +728 intelligence and +1091 stamina, we're simply guided to understand that the staff grants the user access to certain power they'd otherwise be completely shut off to. This helps a lot in the world building aspect of the game.

I think J.J. Jenness was an excellent choice of narrator for this audiobook as well. The initial impression I was hit with in hearing a male narrator was one I expected to not like. This being erotica, I tend to prefer female narrators. However, J.J. fits very well, due to the direction the plot takes, as hinted by the title, and I found myself enjoying J.J.'s narration because it fits the MC so well. The best narrators I find manage to make me believe they're the character speaking, rather than a narrator.

The main character and two supporting roles were quite enjoyable, we learn about each of them and I found myself enjoying the troll comic relief too much, which it seems is exactly what was meant to happen. The rest of the guild, and the villain, weren't explored much, but it's clear as the first part in an intended series, that this book was more about the MC's transformation.

To top it off, if you're like me, and you wouldn't mind getting stuck in the avatar of Lacey, you're likely to enjoy this too.

Solid Story

I'm a fan of litRPG style books and this book does a decent job of providing you a world and characters that feel like they are part of an RPG. The cast of characters were unique and interesting that was able to keep my attention with a sense of character progression.

The narration was on point most of the time. J. J. Jenness did a good job with character voices for males and females. My only complaint would be the voices for creatures sounded very similar to each other making it hard to distinguish which creature was talking.

Overall, I'd recommend this book for anyone interested in litRPG style books that offer a unique perspective.

its just ok

I received a free copy for a impartial review. The story is funny and antics are interesting. Problem is characters are not well developed and descriptions are too vague. Lead character breaks out of his shell but a lot is predictable.

Top tier LitRPG!

I swear I had already reviewed this book, oh well, lost in the internet. l believe it is a funny premise of the story I found to be both funny and fascinating. Who hasn't wondered about how sex would be for the other gender? Anyway, a great story. I highly recommend this book/series. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Strange But Intriguing!

So, a very strange set of books, this being the 1st in the series. The story is ultimately a Comedy-LitRPG, which is most definitely for an adult audience, due to the many sexual encounters by the main protagonist.

If you are at all squeamish about male to female body swap, then most definitely steer clear of these short novels.

The story is basically your standard LitRPG scenario, with the added bonus of the main character being stuck in someone else's toon, that just happens to be for all intents and purposes, a female whore class.

The writing is ok, the story is ok, the narrating is... a bit hit and miss, when it comes to dialogue, the vocals are ok, not great, but ok, but the main body of the story sounds like someone reading through something at school, standing up at the front of the class, trying to get through the ordeal as quickly as possible. I don't know why but JJ Jenness doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders on this one, sorry dude.

Overall, for me(I love LitRPG) the story is just about good enough to overlook the so, so narration, but someone that isn't really into the genre, it might be a bridge too far.
