For five long years, I didn't know my cat could turn into a vampire.

That means I've spent five long years squishing little black toe beans, participating in all-night cuddles, and calling a full-grown man my itty bitty stinky kitty baby.

When my near-death experience forces Zylus Myrkur to tell me the truth about how magic is real, I nope my way right back into my fish bowl. I will not be participating in any tropes, thank you.

This is not a fish out of water, enemies to lovers romantasy. This is me—a barely functional adult—attempting to live my best life, which consists solely of reading books, eating cheese, and falling asleep on the couch. It does not include making friends with werewolf chihuahuas, meeting a moth faerie prince, or defeating a boogeyman.

And it absolutely, completely, most definitely does not include falling in love.

Falling in Love with My Vampire Cat is a laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with light fantasy elements, neurodivergent characters, and plenty of closed-door sizzle.

This was okay. Overall it was entertaining. It has witty parts, a fun plot, and odd characters. I think it tried too hard in spots to be funny and just came off as weird. Worth the read.

witty, worth the read/listen

I just finished the second book in the series. I liked the story enough to keep listening and will finish the series.
Other reviews complained about the narrator “yelling”. I totally understood. However, I feel it does get a bit better the more you listen. It took the entire book for me to get used to the writing. I believe the author does a good job with the neurodivergent aspect. I have a very limited frame of reference though. Not my favorite series but a super fun take on paranormal.

Fun but….

I have loved all of Camilla Evergreens books so far and this one was just the same. I always found myself wanting to listen for more. The narrators were chosen perfectly and totally expressed all that the characters were feeling throughout the story. Overall this story was gripping all the way through and the narrators were a perfect match.

Perfect pick

A very funny book, which draws most of its humor from the business culture of best selling fiction, with jokes about subgenres, tropes and common mistakes made by main characters.

Very Funny

Just no. I tried, really really tried to finish the book. I tried to look past the narrator in the hopes the story would carry itself, but no. I couldn't finish the book...
