Publisher's summary

As the bassist for the band Caged, the last three years have been one, long non-stop party. Sure, I've had some regrets. Everyone does. But getting trapped in a relationship isn't one of them. I know good and well what happens when the attraction fades. I've seen it firsthand. Love is a zero sum game, so why play? As long as I'm upfront about my feelings, no one gets hurt. Besides, I'm never in one place long enough to worry about tomorrow.

That is, until the band decided to take an extended hiatus in our hometown. That's when I met Melody Sullivan. She's the full package. Whip-smart and beautiful, with enough determination to take on anything life has in store. And the best part? Melody shares my philosophy on the fleeting nature of attraction. She doesn't buy into the whole "happily ever after" crap any more than I do. We're perfect for each other. For now. And now is all I want.

With the expectations off the table, I can let my guard down and enjoy her company until the spark dies. And we both know it will. In a week, or a month. But until then, we'll just keep having fun. The good kind, with lots of sex and no strings attached. And when it's time to move on, we will. No drawn out goodbyes and no remorse.

That's the plan, at least.

Not your typical Rockstar Romance

What made the experience of listening to Fall with Me the most enjoyable?

The plot was awesome.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fall with Me?

When Christian realizes that his feelings for Melody have evolved. You can see it happening, but it's very clear at her graduation.

What about Scott R. Smith’s performance did you like?

The narration was spot on. I felt all the different characters come through!

Any additional comments?

Fall With Me is not your typical rockstar romance. Christian actually has a brain. He's a bit of nerd. And when he meets Melody you can see how they fit. But Christian doesn't believe in love as a permanent state so he fights it. What a great story!!

Awesome

I enjoyed this audiobook. I like the idea of two nerds finding love. I'm a nerdy girl so it's nice to have a story I can connect to.

Awesome!

Would you consider the audio edition of Fall with Me to be better than the print version?

I would love to read both the book and listen to audio one the same.

What does Scott R. Smith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

You can hear the emotions better on audio than picturing it in your mind although I love doing that too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I couldn't stop listening it.

Any additional comments?

Awesome! I've reviewed this book for United Indie Book Blog. I had the audio version. This is my first time reading one of Jayne Frost books. I'm in love with her writing now. I was drawn into the book and was hooked until the end. I fell in love with Christian and Melody. Melody is sassy, sweet, and funny. While Christian is this hot, sexy, smart rock star. This is the second book in the Sixth Street Band series. Although it can be read as a standalone too. It's definitely worth buying. Highly recommend too. Keep up the amazing work! I can't wait to read your next book. I will be definitely going back and reading the first book in this series soon.

Brought To Life!

What did you like best about this story?

WOW!

I was given the privilege to review this book, and I can say that I am extremely happy that I did so. I finished the book within a day and a half. I just could NOT put it down!

My ratings:

Overall Rating: 5 Stars

Writing Style: 5 Stars- Jayne had an excellent and intelligent execution of this book. I am a total grammar nazi, so reading a book with wonderful writing and an original voice made my creative brain sing praises! The main characters, Christian and Mel, had their own voices and thoughts, and were not carbon-copies of Lily and Cam. Many authors don't achieve that!

Descriptions/Scenery/Setting: 4.5 stars- Overall, I got a relatively clear picture of the settings the characters were placed in, which really lit up and added to the book nicely.

Plot/Story Line: 5 stars- like I said, I couldn't put it down! The story was edgy, raw, sexy, and most of all, realistic (minus the whole "rock star." thing,). Mel had real struggles, and the interactions between her and Christian were important, and I did not get bored with them.

Genre: Romance (NA, College Romance)

Maturity Rating: 18+, due to language, and several sex scenes throughout the book

I would for sure recommend this book to my friends and followers! I can see myself coming back to this book for a re-read when I have some downtime (which is unusual; re-reading books is rare for me!). I can't wait for the next book. :)

Have you listened to any of Scott R. Smith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Alright, so at first, Jayne gave me Fall With Me to read and review, since the audiobook wasn't out yet!

Scott R. Smith brought one of my FAVORITE books to life! It was like taking black and white movies and putting it into glorious technicolor. It was so wonderful to listen to. I felt as if it was truly Christian talking to me! Normally, I am not a huge fan of books read by only a male, but I feel it fits with the male POV Jayne writes from. Loved it!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I always laugh and cry to this book. Agh! So amazing.

Any additional comments?

Geek meets rocker!

This audiobook was pretty entertaining, except the voice somehow didn’t fit the hero very well. The story was well written, with a brainiac rocker who meets a brilliant grad student and they fall for each other. The heroine is a diabetic and they have several clashes where he is over protective because of that. Overall it’s a good listen.

Not that deep

I do not get all the glowing reviews. This story was two dimensional. Most of the book was lackluster sex scenes and little relationship/character development. The narrator added no depth to the characters. I could have skipped this story about Christian & most likely not missed anything in the series.

Not my favorite

I liked the idea of the story although I felt like the girl is pretty defensive about her issues, which I found annoying and this book didn’t feel all that deep and part of my having trouble connecting to the characters may have been the poor choice of narrator. Ugh absolutely this voice did not in anyway match these characters and it was really disappointing and distracting, I found my self just wanting the darn book to end so I could get away from the I’ll fitting narrator. I wanted to enjoy book two but gosh it was hard to stick it out. If it’s going to be the same narrator next book I may have to just read the rest of the series or skip it which would be hard for my obsessed need to read all the book in a series no matter how much u may dislike one. Ugh hoping for better next book this was uncomfortable listen. Story it’s self was good!

Narration killed the story

What a shame that the genius of the band’s story wasn’t done as in depth or as well as the more generic characters. Christian’s character had the potential to be the most interesting member of the band and makings of the best story in the series. The rest of the series is much better with complex characters and relationships. This one is shallow, rushed and lacking...
I might have enjoyed this story a little if the narration had been decent. This guy should stick to voiceover work on local commercials. He is no actor or storyteller.

Second in the series

Don't care for the narrator. Struggled to finish the book. Good voice but for me he doesn't connect with the characters or storyline. The first book ended before I was quite ready and was hoping this would continue the story. Some mention of the first two characters. Love the references to Austin hotspots like Huts (that is now closed), etc. On the fence if I'll read others. A different narrator would be great.
