Publisher's summary
Wanted: Women with religious upbringing, high morals, and a strong sense of adventure, willing to marry decent, God-fearing men. Applicants may apply by mail. Must allow at least two months for an answer.
With the matrimonial prospects in her little Michigan town virtually nonexistent, 19-year-old Faith - along with her two sisters, Hope and June - answers an ad for mail-order brides. Before she knows it, she’s on her way to Deliverance, Texas, to marry wealthy rancher Nicholas Shepherd.
But from the moment she arrives in Deliverance, sparks fly between Faith, a strong-willed tomboy, and her prospective husband - a man with a strong will of his own! After a string of wedding postponements and a slew of interferences, a union between Faith and Nicholas begins to look less and less likely.
In the meantime, Faith and Nicholas are beginning to care for each other - but is their matching stubbornness destined to forever be a barrier between them?

Story
An exciting new Amish-meets-Wild West adventure from bestselling authors Lori Copeland and Virginia Smith weaves an entertaining and romantic tale for devoted fans and new readers. Kansas,1881--On a trip to visit relatives, Emma Switzer's Amish family is robbed of all their possessions, leaving them destitute and stranded on the prairie. Walking into the nearest trading settlement, they pray to the Lord for someone to help. When a man lands in the dust at her feet, Emma looks down at him and thinks, The Lord might have cleaned him up first. Luke Carson, heading up his first cattle drive, is not planning on being the answer to anyone's prayers, but it looks as though God has something else in mind for this kind and gentle man. Plain and rugged--do the two mix? And what happens when a dedicated Amish woman and a stubborn trail boss prove to be each other's match?

Story
Six years ago, a shocking secret sent Agnes Pratt running in search of a new start. She found it in Penance, a rugged town of miners and lumberjacks in the Dakota Territory, where she became Miss Aggie, respected schoolteacher and confirmed old maid. But the past has a way of catching up with people. When childhood friend and former sweetheart James Harris accepts a position as the town doctor, Aggie's pleasantly predictable days suddenly become anything but.

It’s 1835 in Utica, New York, and newlywed Helen Galway discovers a secret: Two runaway slaves are hiding in the shack behind her husband’s house. Suddenly, she is at the center of not only the era’s greatest moral dilemma, but her own, as well. Should she be a “good wife” and report the fugitives to her husband? Or will she defy convention and come to their aid? Within her home, Helen is haunted by the previous Mrs. Galway, recently deceased but still an oppressive presence.

One of my favorites
I have reread this book over the years since I was about 15 maybe younger .. gets me every time :) first was introduced to Copeland and these brides of the west books through the book Glory and that was a wonderful one I love too :) when I refound them on audible I had to relive them again :) This is my first one back in and I have more of the series saved in my library now for future listening :) Especially in the season I’m in I have a lot of down time to enjoy these - just welcomed baby girl 3 into our family so lots of time I will just have to sit and listen while taking of our newborn :)

Faith
This is the first book in this series. I liked the book and I think the series will be good. I will listen to the whole series. In this book I liked the book but did not like Nicholas. I don't think he deserved Faith. Nicholas was afraid of his mom which I couldn't stand either. Faith was as nice and sweet as anyone could be. She deserved better. I started to quit the book but I didn't. It gets better towards the end. Holly Adams is an excellent narrator. She does an excellent job on this book.
