Publisher's Summary

All Twig Starfig wants is to settle into mated life with his wizard and be a good leader to his clan. No drama. No heartache. A happily-ever-after fit for a dragon. Or half-dragon, at any rate.

Instead, Twig and Quinn get roped into a new case involving missing orc stones. Yes, those really are a thing. Twig’s dad is on the PR warpath...again. Quinn's little brother can't seem to stop pining over their housemate. Someone - or something - seems to be following them. And getting quality time alone with his wizard is more difficult than keeping one’s virginity at an incubus party.

To make matters worse, Twig's old enemies start dropping like fairyflies, and they find themselves smack in the middle of an inconvenient murder investigation with a certain red fury as the main suspect. With everyone in Lighthelm convinced of Bill’s guilt - and by Twig’s association - Starfig Investigations is on the case.

Is there no one in the Elder Realm who’s fairy and impartial?

Keep 'em coming!

These books are so over the top and entertaining, I always listen to them multiple times. Funny, imaginative stories with great characters that are somehow a bit complex despite being like, demons and faeries. One of the things I like about fantasy stories is that it gives less opportunity for authors to weave in dumb race and gender stereotypes, but some authors still manage it. (Gross.) Meghan Maslow hasn't given me a new ulcer yet in the 6 or so books of hers I've read. Thank you thank you for entertaining me without letting the real world intrude.

There's something rotten in Lighthelm!

It is such a treat to be back with Twig, Quinn and the clan. There's murder and mayhem afoot, and as usual Starfig Investigations is slap bang in the middle of it!

Twig and Quinn are trying to settle down to family life, but once again trouble comes knocking on their door. The opening scene is reminiscent of exasperated parents everywhere trying to get a few moments of alone time. Do make sure your earphones are firmly in place before hitting play! Before long they're dragged into adventure, dealing with disaster after disaster with style and humour.

It's a good thing that Twig is an (albeit reluctant) collector of creatures, because I become unreasonably attached and don't want to let them go! Newcomer Dandy - or Dandelion Cupcake Sparkles McGee to give him his full moniker! - is all kinds of delightful and a fantastic addition to the series.

I loved catching up with the gang, and particularly enjoyed seeing Zak more relaxed and secure in his home, though still pining after Bill. He and Dandy are utterly adorable when they're able to just be carefree teenagers. It broke my heart when Zak spoke to Twig about the problems he has interacting with people, but it also warmed my heart to see the bond between the two. This clan is the ultimate found family. They're all still dealing with the abuses and neglect they each have suffered at the hands of those who ought to have cared for them, and yet they have formed such a tight-knit team offering each other stability and support.

If you're looking for fast-paced, breathtaking action, with a generous sprinkling of humour and a huge dollop of heart, look no further than a Maslow! I'm already looking forward to the next book!

What can I say about Greg Boudreaux that hasn't already been said many times over? Greg is a gold standard narrator, the narrator of every audiobook lover's dreams. I was not the only person who waited to experience this book wrapped in Greg's own brand of magic. I have several titles narrated by Greg, and each narration is sheer perfection. The man never seems to have an off day! I cannot imagine this series without him.

Love this series, loved this!

The fabled Orc Stones have gone missing and mouthy tworc (twink/orc) Danny hires Starfig Investigations to find them - if only fairy/dragon Twig Starfig didn’t hate orcs so much! This had all the usual fun, adventure, magic, and mayhem. I love an ensemble cast and with each story, Fig’s clan has taken in more stray magical beings who are special in their own way and don’t fit the norm. Despite all the subplots and craziness, I also enjoyed the strong and tender bond between Twig and Quinn - it shines through in each book. Audio narrator Greg Boudreaux is so amazing, he has so many distinct voices up his sleeve - I can always tell which recurring character is speaking before Greg tells us who said the words. Gosh I wish this series would go on forever!
