Ok story bad narrator

The story is solid, but the audiobook narration didn’t work for me. The narrator performs the female lead with a very breathless, fragile tone that makes her sound constantly overwhelmed. Instead of conveying tension or determination, many lines come across as anxious or bordering on whining.

Because the protagonist carries so much of the story, that vocal choice ends up undercutting the character’s strength and flattening some of the more serious moments. The plot itself kept me listening, but the narration made it harder to stay fully immersed.

I like the storybut the narrator leaves a lot to be desired

disliked the narrator little inflection between charactersand differ the characters. sort of monotonous.. I expect more fro, a narrator I will make sure any future books ate not done by this person.

Bravery in the face of danger

I enjoyed listening to this book for several reasons. The main character, Gemma was my favorite in that she was strong, intelligent, intuitive and brave. The story was realistic and unpredictable at times so it made it more interesting for me.
The narrator was not as talented as I would like to have seen for lack of inflection and emotion, but overall worth the listen.
Mild language.
I would recommend this book.

the way the story twisted and took your emotions with it . including the family dynamics and unity of the officersgrabbed at your heart.

Great story

Enjoyed a view of the people working through a very tense encounter. A real insight to how things work.
