Executive Functioning by Gail McHugh

I found the book to be very informative. Easy-to-use exercises. Although I don't have children and am not a teacher there were still skills that could enrich anyone's life.

Helpful!

As an aunt to a teenage niece, I know how difficult it can be for teens and adults to navigate the challenges of growing up. That's why I found this book to be such a valuable resource. It offers practical, easy-to-implement strategies for helping teens develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond while also fostering emotional regulation and flexible thinking. The author's experience as a school psychologist and counselor shines through in the clear, concise advice and engaging activities. I highly recommend this book to any parent or caregiver looking to support their teen's growth and development.

Wonderful!

The author's writing style is engaging and informative, making the book both easy to understand and fun to read. Each chapter provides practical tips and activities that are easy to implement and tailored to the specific needs of teenagers. I particularly appreciated the section on creating visual aids and the variety of games and activities that can be incorporated into daily routines to improve executive functioning skills.
The author's approach is positive and encouraging, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and celebrating small successes along the way. This book has not only helped my teenager to become more organized and focused, but it has also improved her self-confidence and overall life skills.

Teen must!

This is a must have book for all teens since everyone ends up managing their own time, activities, projects, and work endeavours when you become an adult or even a young adult. What I really liked about this audiobook is that it teaches you through games which is much more fun and entertaining than simply listening and memorizing information. Great book!

Amazing book!

The author was so thoughtful and made this doable. The games and activities are worth doing. I would love to see this book as a required reading in schools. It’s all in here, functioning, organizing, memory, decision making, and more. I’ll be recommending this to many people.

Very thorough!

This is a great book on executive function for teens. It helped me understand how poor executive function affects their daily lives and ways to help them. I especially enjoyed the game ideas and examples in the book.
