Publisher's summary

In Everything Is Going to be K.O. Kaiya Stone writes about her own experiences of living with specific learning difficulties: from struggling at school to being diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia while at university, to performing her own one-woman stand up show inspired by her journey.

Always funny and unfailingly honest, Kaiya outlines the frustrations of having SPLDS but also the ways in which they have fuelled her creativity. She calls for neurodiversity to be celebrated and stresses that instead of questioning how we are 'supposed' to think we should take pride in our cognitive differences.

Everything Is Going to be K.O. is an uplifting book for anyone who has ever wondered what it is like to live with learning difficulties today.

the metaphysics of storytelling

Ok, so I already knew my perspective of your story from chapter one, beginning about 20 years ago, but don't lets allow that to influence us here, as the manner in which you have played this, particularly the last chapter, took any of my personal bias and blew it right out the window. So pertinent to have it narrated, and what a treat to have it narrated by you.

Coming from a Nation who has a deep wealth in the knowledge of storytelling, I'd like to think that somewhere along the line I have learnt to listen and at least recognise the beauty of the artform. So to me it is no issue whether it is your first book, one of many or your last, as storytelling is something which you carry deep within, which transcends the surface, meeting your listener on the same level not only as an individual, but also as being part of a universal world.

As we move into unknown territory, you are here, showing us the way.
