I was dreading the Cunningham family reunion even before the first murder.

Before the storm stranded us at the mountain resort, snow and bodies piling up.

The thing is, us Cunninghams don't really get along. We've only got one thing in common: we've all killed someone.

My brother.

My step-sister.

My wife.

My father.

My mother.

My sister-in-law.

My uncle.

My stepfather.

My aunt.

Me.

When I started chapter one of this book I was not convinced I was going to finish it. The concept is strange and it was not what I was expecting but very fast I became hooked. It was engaging and fun and actually turned out to be an enjoyable page turner with some twists along the way.

Surprisingly brilliant

This book is an easy read that is Individual and surprisingly subtle for all the laughs.

It is enjoyable, but surprisingly dark. The mystery is good, the writing format is very unique and it is not at all dull.

It is funny, snarky and poses the important question: when faced with the horror of an inescapable, week long family reunion, is the prospect of being murdered the worst thing that can happen?

Funny, Observant and Perceptive Murder Comedy about Family Reunions.

Enjoyed the book, good twists and turns and liked the way the narrator plays out the plot line

Great easy to listen to

I looked forward to this book thanks to the positive reviews but I found it a huge disappointment.
I hated the ‘nudge-nudge, wink-wink’ narrative style and the reader suffers from the same inability as most Australians to pronounce any words that sound remotely French. We are subjected to the mangling of ‘bain marie’ and ‘croissants’ in the same chapter, as well as other mispronunciations in other parts of the book. The author is also prone to grammatical errors and doesn’t seem to know whether he is aiming at an Australian or American audience. (‘Panadol’ but ‘airplane’.)
This is a purely subjective review and some may think it’s petty, but the faults combined to wreck any suspension of disbelief and never allowed me to enjoy the narrative. By addressing me directly, the author constantly reminds me that I am just listening to a book and not to take anything seriously.
Altogether, I hated this book on every level.

Disappointed
