Did not like the narrator

This is the ninth Alex Gerlis book I listen to. The prior eight were a different narrator who I quite enjoyed it. I could not finish this book. I actually bought the e-book so I could finish the story without suffering through the narrator

Decent story. Poor naration

The story takes time to develop. A lot of characters, many interrelated webs that don't come together right away. But that's what I expect in a spy thriller. The narrator was not my favorite. He certainly tried to give each character their unique voice but accents were not great.

Mediocre. Not Gerlis' best.

Narration poor. Accents painful. Story simplistic. This book is not even close to Alex Gerlis' other spy series, such as: Vienna Spies, Berlin Spies, and Prince of Spies. I like Gerlis'books a lot and waited with anticipation for this book. It was underwhelming.

Needs a main character the reader can like

I found this book really hard to like, mostly because there was no central, engaging, decent character to anchor it. Whose point of view is the story told from? Who are we to identify with or root for or care about? Nary a one here.
