Publisher's summary

Rest and relaxation.

That's all Jonx wanted after escaping from not one but two star systems on the brink of being taken over by an overpowered, psychopathic cyborg. Unfortunately, his friend, Zozka, had other plans.

"Let's join a Sept," she said.

"It's just one small tournament."

"It'll be good for the both of us."

How could he say no to someone who'd watched his back time and again as they slogged through one battlefield or riftworld after another?

Follow Cedrick Jonkheer through another space adventure across the territories of the Celestial Powers as he tries, once again, to not die.

A lot of really good ideas

If you spent anytime learning about writing you’ve heard the phrase, “show, don’t tell.” This series is nothing but tell. Things happen and it is incredibly unsatisfying because you are told about it, instead of reading it. I would praise this series and even recommend it, if not for that.

Disappointing compared to the first book

First of all the main character was maybe in about half of the book the rest was scenes from other mostly small characters. Most of the time the main character was just being a puppet for more powerful characters. At least he was able to grow by feeding off the scraps given to him by his puppeteer. Now the book ends with him just being a puppet for more powerful character. In addition to all of this, I kept losing track of what was going on and had to keep going back over the same materials because it was so confusing sometimes.

Damn this series just gets better and better

During the first book I thought it was a slog, I’d rate it a seven out of ten, but this book is brilliant and highly entertaining. Definitely recommend!!
