The oldest known copy of Daniel comes from the Dead Sea Scrolls, which scholars date to 125 BC. The most liberal view thinks that someone wrote Daniel by 165 BC. Jesus' death on the cross and rising from the dead replaced the earthly Temple with the ultimate sacrifice. The need for a temple in Jerusalem vanished, sanctioned with divine authority.
