Publisher's summary

Zac Riggs would not have survived on Ludus for very long without his adopted sister, Gazra-tam. Gazra-tam is an ocelot-race Mo'hali, and Riggs is an engineering student from Earth who was transported to Ludus. The two make an unlikely team.

Riggs and his sister had been comfortable living in a trap-filled dungeon before bandits attacked. But now there are bodies all over the floor and it doesn't quite feel like home anymore.

The time has come for Gazra-tam to lead Riggs out of the wilderness to a city. Ludus is full of dangers, but the two are not defenseless. Riggs has budding, if underwhelming, magical powers, and his sister is good with a spear. Hopefully it will be enough.

Adventure awaits...whether they're ready or not. But with danger comes opportunity, too.

And if Riggs can figure out how to use his engineering know-how on a fantasy world full of magic and monsters, it might give him exactly the edge that he needs.

A Good Story With A Great Narrator

Definitely a good hashing and spin on the fantasy hero trope and some quite witty exposition sprinkled throughout. It has a villain you love to hate, a hero that manages to win you over and a great and eclectic mix of supporting characters that are just as memorable. I am officially a fan and look forward to enjoying the rest of Keiler's work.

The true star however is Mr. Hays. Second only to Luke Daniels in my opinion, Jeff brings the myriad of characters to life in such a believable way, you forget it is the same person. No two characters sound alike and they are consistent from start to finish. Truly a first-rate production. Highly recommended.

Hope the author can do more!

I have read through most of the Artificer series, and this story line might be my favorite. I honestly have been enjoying this book more then the latest delvers books. Author does a great job of creating likeable characters with realistic goals and skills, and does it all without using romance as a crutch. Love it!

Also if you want to listen to the origin short story, you can find it on Sound Booth Theater's website. There is a collection of short stories for $8? But it isn't on Audible for some reason.

AWESOME addition to the Delvers LLC world!

This story doesn't cross with the Delvers or Nora series, but it holds its own extremely well.
Great writing and narration.
Lots of action and wonderful characters.
Seriously great LitRPG!
If you're into the Delvers LLC universe, you definitely don't want to miss this addition.

It's not delver's but it's good.

It's a spinoff and you need to keep that in mind. Still one of my favorites and could definitely stand up to other spinoffs from ludus

Good!

Pretty good book! Good addition to the Ludus/Delvers LLC universe. Underpowered MC that uses his powers in a smart way to defeat his opponents. One vague mention of the Delvers and that's all so don't hope for a connection with the original books characters in this first book, maybe in the future?

Good amount of action, twists, and emotional scenes.
