Publisher's Summary

Alisa Marchenko has reunited with her daughter, and even though she hasn't figured out how to get Jelena to accept Leonidas yet, she dreams of the three of them starting a new life together. They can return the Star Nomad to its original purpose of running freight and staying out of trouble (mostly).

Before that can happen, Alisa must fulfill the promise she made to Jelena: that she and her crew will retrieve young Prince Thorian, the boy who has become Jelena's best friend. But Thorian was kidnapped by the rogue Starseer Tymoteusz, the man who wants to use the Staff of Lore to take over the entire system - and the man who may have the power to do it. Alisa doesn't know why he kidnapped Thorian, but Tymoteusz once promised to kill the prince, so she fears they don't have much time.

Unfortunately, Tymoteusz hasn't left a trail of breadcrumbs. Finding him will be difficult, and even if they're successful, facing him could be suicidal. To have a chance of surviving, Alisa will have to come up with her greatest scheme yet.

Pretty good

The stories are kind of silly but fun. Without Kate Reading they would be rather boring; her narration is wonderful; I would enjoy listening to her reading a shopping list. I will look for other books she has narrated.

Aw×, I hate to see it end!

"End Game" by Lindsay Buroker and performed by Kate Reading is an absolute joy and a very fitting end to a superlative series! Packed full of action, adventure, humor, and heart the entire series is wonderful. I simply wish it didn't have to end. *brava*

Sex sex snd still more sex... Enough already!

Absolutely awfull! Enough sex more story. The sex was used as filler in my opinion. This book was boring! Sandwiched between sex and more sex! Tired of reading my description.... Well imagine listening to it I only held on to hear the end and what a waste of time and $$.

Lost interest

Lindsay Buroker has just given up science fiction and switch to cyborg erotica. The last two books have spent more time on the love/sex story then anything else. I’ve completely lost interest in these books. Kate Reading is as always a dream. She’s wonderful. Even when reading a bad book.

Good

I enjoyed the story. Listening to the audible version was not the best idea because I don’t like the way it was read as I pointed out in previous reviews of the series. I also did not care for some of the characters in the story line, like the mechanic, she was to crabby for my taste. Alisa was in my opinion NOT a good mother...she’s immature, selfish, basically lacks the ability to be an authority figure in a child’s life... But it isn’t necessary for characters to be perfect, and it sounded like she was going to have help raising her child, who was sadly turning out to be just like her. I also didn’t like the constant argument over politics... Leonidas & Alisa are going to have problems..with him believing in order, structure and authority...her believing in freedom and disregarding authority (explains the parenting issues) I foresee a rocky home life with Leonidas making most if not all of the concessions. My favorite characters were Abalardous (spelling?) and Leonidas. They were both funny. And Abalardous could be very selfless even though he tried to hide behind a facade of careless self righteousness.

Fantastic adventure

Every once in a while I run across an author who manages to grab my attention and I just want to absorb everything they have. Lyndsay Buroker is one of those. I have yet to read anything of hers that I was not left feeling satisfied. Please if you love good story telling, look no further.

UNLIKELY Union

A deversed union of characters to form a strong bond of friendship and love to accomplish impossible odds. Narration and story line keeps you wanting to read on without stopping.

A great end to a captivating series

I can't quite say why, but the narrator and the story went well together. The eccentricities of the main characters endeared them to me.

Unfortunately a good book ruined by the teller.

The narrator and her way to tell the story ruined it for me. For some reason her enthusiasm, or the lack of, made this just boring. The story itself forunately was ok (wouldn't have known it, if I hadn't read the book previously). Sorry Kate, but this is an honest review.

Another great instalment

The writer has done it again, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommended although I would advise listening to them in order as the story is quite complicated.

Quirky Sci Fi series

I loved the whole series. Great character development with a quirky freighter captain, intrepid crew, evil villains and exciting space adventures.
