Clever, rich, and single, the beautiful Ān Mò (Emma Woodhouse) is focused on her career as fashion designer in the glamour of 21st-century Shanghai. SO Helpful for Intermediate Chinese Learners

I’ve been looking for something like this for months! My 听力 needs work, but anytime I’ve tried to listen to something else available via Audible or podcasts, I end up spending time working on the many vocabulary words in the recording and not working on listening. This book was great. I took it slow and steady, focusing on the recording and only doing 5-10 minutes in a sitting. I saw improvement over the course of this book and plan to listen to all of the available audiobooks. Can’t wait for more content here and at the 450+ character level!

Helpful way to learn Chinese

Before I purchased Emma from Audible, I had bought the text of Emma: Mandarin Companion from Amazon. I was pleased to see I could buy the audio so I could listen to the correct pronunciation. The narrator speaks the words clearly, and I can easily follow along with the text. As I become more comfortable with the text, I'll practice only listening to the audio.

I also appreciated that I could speed up the narration, and I experimented with listening to the book at 1, 1.25, and 1.5 speed.

In sum, this audio is another quality language learning tool from Mandarin Companion.
