Publisher's Summary

From the thrilling Ember War story arc, the epic sci-fi adventure continues with Ember War Pathfinders.

Light the Way, Book one

If you want the most dangerous job in the galaxy, be a Pathfinder.

At the leading edge of humanity’s trek across the stars they are experts in exploring strange new worlds and beating any threat that awaits. When a mysterious gate is found on an ancient planet, the Pathfinders are called in to light the way into the mysterious dimension it holds.

Lieutenant Karl Anderson leads his crack team on a mission to a mysterious world out of time and space, and what awaits them is an alien menace beyond anything they’ve ever encountered before....

Belisarius, Book two

The greatest disaster in Pathfinder history. What happened to the crew of the starship Belisarius

Being a Pathfinder was never meant to be easy. Chief Carson thought her team was on a straightforward babysitting mission for a war hero past his prime on an uninhabited planet, but when they encounter a race of aliens that aren’t what they seem, they’re thrust into a first contact that no one is ready for.

Carson, her team, and a former Strike Marine named Standish find themselves in the middle of a millennia-long conspiracy that threatens the entire galaxy. The Pathfinders will need every last bit of luck and skill they have to save themselves, and those aboard the Belisarius.

Disappointing

I've listened to every single Ember Wars series and enjoyed everyone of them, however the Pathfinder series is another story. Maybe I didn't give it long enough, but I absolutely could not stand the main characters (even with Luke Daniels one of my favorite narrators).

Great listen

Fun story telling, great characters, and great narration, as I've come to expect from a Emberverse book and Luke Daniels, Ben Stevens stepped right up and did a great job. I look forward to more!

First!

Ember War fans rejoice! We have more stories to consume! Onward! Standish rules. Looking forward to more excellence from Luke Daniels and more excellent stories from the Ember War World.

Luke Daniels blooper reel!!

A Luke Daniels blooper reel? That was fun. I have not noticed that with other books.

decent story, average narration

I thought the storyline was pretty good but maybe team writing is not as good as a dedicated author. it was nice to see blending in some of the old characters like Standish and Hale. Luke Daniels is certainly a pro but he clearly got lieutenant Anderson's voice wrong so bad it was grating every time he spoke. yikes

As satisfying as expected!

A great addition to one of my favorite universes. Interesting back story for Carson and I love that Standish has a supporting role. Luke Daniels is stellar as usual.

Well let's see...

It took awhile to get interested in the story, but once I did, it kept my attention for several hours. My only real problem is that some of the main characters voices are way, way overdone. An accent doesn't need to make him sound like he mentally retarded. The C. O. doesn't need to have a voice to rival Macho Man Randy Savage while having what amounts to a hissy fit over his origins. Hopefully those issues will be better in the next book.

It has the combat scenes I love but a bit of a change with a telling from the courtroom. thoroughly enjoyed the style change.

they've done it again!

I can't wait for the next installment of this series. perfectly builds on the other series in the Ember Wars universe. Really like the references to the other series and the way this series builds on it.

for people who haven't listened to the entire series don't worry! you can start here and still follow everything.

Couldn't get into this one.

I really wanted to be transported away and swept up in this book.

After 4 hours I gave up,  characters like Josephson sounding to much like Zoidberg out of futurama and Carl’s character and voice just didn’t sit well with me.

Maybe if I  should have read the book rather than listened to it.
