Publisher's Summary

The stage is set. It's war. Morbin Blackhawk, slaver and tyrant, threatens to destroy the rabbit resistance forever. Heather and Picket are two young rabbits improbably thrust into pivotal roles.

The fragile alliance forged around the young heir seems certain to fail. Can Heather and Picket help rescue the cause from a certain, sudden defeat?

My kid favorite

My kids' favorite! The story, the narrator, the emotions, the ending... All perfect! My kids are 9, 7, and 5 and all enjoyed this series. As a matter of fact, they are out in yard playing "Picket and Heather" as I type this!

Beautiful Story

What a beautiful story, read beautifully. We finished it a week ago and are still talking about it. Bravery, hope, deception, sacrificial love...what a rich, rich story

Couldn't stop listening

My only regret is that I didn't wait to listen to it after book 3 was released so I could listen to them together! I so hate waiting! Hope S.D. Smith writes many more books! What a gifted storyteller! And Joel Clarkson is one of the best...he has so many different voices that it is hard to believe it is one person reading.

I. Loved. This. Book. So. Much

S.D. Smith has once again written a masterpiece of words that makes you want to laugh, cry, and cheer all at once. With scenes where I was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath or reeling with shock and disbelief, I was thoroughly entertained.

Joel Clarkson’s narrating was superb, giving each character their own individuality and personality. Thanks to him, I have each character’s voice locked inside my head.

I also loved seeing each character growing more and more with the story, and I’m eagerly awaiting to see how they turn out in future books. And there was well-placed plot twists and surprises that left me tangled in a conflicting storm of emotions.

Overall, I immensely enjoyed this book. 5/5. Now, I’m off to get the next few books!

I am 14 years old

I have very much so enjoyed this book as well as the first and third books in the series. I have read this particular book several times and love the voice they chose to read it. He plays the characters voices well. Just as I have imagined their voices when I read the green ember books in paper back.

Incredible sequel - darker, deeper, soaring story.

From 30 years old down to two, as a family we laughed, cheered, gasped and had tears in our eyes throughout. The narrator does the musical parts and various voices very well. The storyline is just masterful - I honestly can't think of as beautifully crafted a tale in recent times. The cliffhanger is a killer, though - we need more!

Just brilliant!

I have just finished listening to Ember Falls with my 8 year old daughter and we both loved it!! Totally gripped throughout. I highly recommend this book; it is exciting, full of passion, bravery, and adventure. I loved the narration too...just hope that there will be more books coming out after Black Star...we have listened to all 3 now....though on the plus side, my daughter and I may actually chat in the car rather than hit play to listen to the next instalment!! 😂😂
