Publisher's Summary

I had one goal: To learn from Sebastian Ryker.

He was an award-winning physician in his field of medicine.

A genius who could diagnose you with the barest of symptoms.

The best of the best.

Too bad he turned out to be an egotistical jerk.

Mere hours into my first day, I realized that the man I had idolized for years didn't live up to the hype.

He was rude, arrogant, and totally full of...himself.

It was clear that my presence bothered him, that I was nothing more than an irritation.

So, why did I want to melt into a puddle whenever those dark eyes were trained on me?

And why didn't I listen when my head warned my heart that he'd break it in two?

I had one goal: To learn from Sebastian Ryker, not fall in love with him.

Paging Dr. Stormy

NOLA504NERDS BLOG
Thanks A.K. MacBride for gifting me this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Dr. Sebastian Ryker is an award-winning physician in the diagnostics field. He is deliciously handsome. He’s also grumpy, rude, and arrogant. Dr. Mia Phillips idolizes Sebastian and jumps at the chance to train under him. Mia is strong and talented. She somehow pokes this grumpy bear when she saves a life before her first shift even starts. With his antagonism, she can clearly see how he’s earned the name Dr. Stormy. She refuses to let Dr. Stormy get under her skin. A night out with mutual friends brings to light the attraction between them. Is there more to Dr. Stormy than everyone thinks? Can Mia and Sebastian take a chance on each other without any repercussions?

I’m a huge fan of Grey’s Anatomy. I know Mia is a red head, but I picture her as Dr. Meredith Grey and Sebastian as Dr. Derek Shephard (McDreamy). This book had a Grey’s Anatomy vibe to it that I absolutely adored. Mia and Sebastian both share the same determination and care when it comes to their patients. They also share an undeniable chemistry that they can’t contain. The steam level is a 5! I loved the funny banter between them and with their friends and coworkers. Dr. Stormy turns out to be a romantic sap when it comes to Mia. MacBride’s writing is spot on and flowed beautifully. I didn’t want the story to end. It was light-hearted, romantic, quirky, and passionate.

Summer was perfect as Mia! She perfectly embraced her wit, strength, and caring demeanor. Gregory, as always, is absolutely incredible. His male voice is super sexy! The narration had a great flow while bringing the story to life. Greg and Summer made a great duo, and I would love to hear more from them!

I diagnose this book as a 5-star must read!

Egotistical Jerk is a cute workplace novel It's sweet and funny. I loved the push and pull between Sebastian and Mia. I loved Mia's determination and willingness to stand up for herself. The hospital grapevine was pretty funny too. I liked how things worked out and also wanted more of these two. Overall, a fun addition to the Hero Club world.

Good hero club book

This was a good listen. Nothing too earth shattering, but the characters were interesting, fun and their story was hot. A bit of the forbidden and getting out of their comfort zone. Readers did a nice job.

Good book

The first book that started the “Hero Club Series” Soraya and Graham’s story Is “Stuck-Up Suit” by ViKeeland and Penelope Ward it took me forever to figure it out.

Very Bland

The narrators were both good but the story lacked substance, it needed more depth. From the first 2 chapters you can already predict the storyline. There was no major conflict like with other romance novels. Wouldn’t read it again.

Story wasn’t bad...

The author needs to work on her transitions from one scene to the next. I found myself rewinding a few times to figure out how we got from point A to point B. But kudos to you for taking this chance at writing a book!

Excellent audiobook

This is the second book I've read/listened to by AK MacBride, first in this series. I loved this one! Immediately I was pulled in and didn't want to pause. It was a light hearted, but at times heartbreaking, story. The characters were easy to like. I wasn't ready for it to end.

Summer Roberts and Gregory Salinas were EXCELLENT narrators. Their performances were perfection. This audio ran like a movie in my head.

A great story in the Hero club

Gregory Salinas and Summer Roberts gave a great performance. They are another great duo I look forward to hearing from in future stories.

Skip It

Dull storyline. I was an hour from the ending and I didn’t even bother to finish it. It was pretty predictable as to how it was going to end so I didn’t bother. And this is me being picky but as an OR nurse for 10 years I found some things hard to believe. SPOILER ALERT! Firstly: her age is completely off. At 25 she would be nowhere near completing her residency. She would be just finishing medical school and starting residency which is another 2-3 years. She needs to be around 27/28. Secondly, there is no way a doctor that hasn’t completed residency or even is fresh out of residency would be hired to head up a department in a hospital. Absolutely unheard of. Experience matters in medicine. VERY MUCH! There are other things that annoyed me as well but those were the ones worth mentioning. This is a fluff book lacking depth and character development. Would not recommend.

Diagnosing matters of the heart....

Sebastian and Mia are both doctors working in the diagnostic field. Sebastian is the best in the field but it is also his passion and something he has worked at for his entire career. Mia is new to field but she is passionate about the work and want to work with the best. Outside of Mia and Sebastian having passion for the field of diagnostic, they also have stellar chemistry between them. I enjoyed this story and the variety of things it made you feel. There was loss, heartbreak, forgiveness, and also hot passion. I love how the two not only developed a relationship but they also shared a genuine love for their patients. Overall good story!
