Publisher's Summary

When evil descends like fog on a mountain community, no one feels safe.

After hearing about a string of murders in a Smoky Mountain town, journalist Harper Jennings realizes a startling truth. She knows who may be responsible - the same person who tried to kill her three years ago. Now Harper must convince the cops to believe her before the killer strikes again.

Sheriff Luke Wilder returned to his hometown, determined to keep the promise he made to his dying father. The sleepy tourist area with a tragic past hadn’t seen a murder in decades - until now. Keeping the community safe seems impossible as darkness edges closer, threatening to consume everything in its path.

As the watcher grows desperate, Harper and Luke must work together in order to defeat him. But the peril around them escalates, making it clear the killer will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

A new favorite author

Christy Barritt is becoming my new favorite Christian mystery writer! Edge of Peril is a great suspense story with excitement and surprises until the very end! Sandy Rustin was the perfect narrator.

Excellent read; kept me on my toes!

This was the first book by this author I read, and I was very impressed. The book was suspenseful (and slightly creepy) with a great deal of imagery and figurative language. I would definitely read more by the author.
The narration was very skilled; she used a variety of voices to make it interesting.

Super Great

I’ve listened to at least eight of her books. I think this is one of her best, though they are all very good!

Nowhere as well done as "Lantern Beach" series

For those looking forward to a new suspense series from Barritt will be disappointed if you're counting on the same plot twists and turns as other series. Also it lacks the depth of character development.

It's an ok read/listen for a summer day but it's not an edge of your seat thriller like I've come to expect from this author.

Gripping Story, Unforgettable Characters

This story really surprised me with how good it is. Fast paced, suspenseful story telling, true to life characters with real world baggage and deep histories to overcome, and enough mystery and twists and turns to keep you guessing and glued to the developments. Well done!
