Publisher's summary

Eddie and Andrew have dynamite chemistry. But Eddie is profoundly dyslexic, and Andrew lives to read. Andrew is pathologically disorganized, and Eddie likes things neat and clutter-free. Andrew is desperately ashamed of his hoarder father, and Eddie is embarrassed by his lack of education - secrets that could pull them apart even as a friend's tragedy brings them together. When Andrew's father's condition deteriorates and he nearly dies because of his compulsion, Eddie and Andrew must learn compassion begins with loving oneself because Grime Doesn't Pay.

Another sweet love story...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so much better than I did the first one in this series. Eddie is such a loveable and sweet character, I just wanted to give him a great ole bear hug! Eddie and Andrew's journey had a few hiccups but for the most part, there was never a doubt that the two would not have a happily ever after. Each has to come to terms with certain issues and accept that the other will be there for them. Eddie's heart and Andrew's charm just made this a great book. Z.A. Maxfield gives you a story that all can relate and Joe Arden's narration brought the characters to life and encouraged the listener/reader to care for the characters. A definite recommend...

So awkward

I didn’t understand this book. They were so awkward together. How are they in love? And how does a teacher not know the signs of a learning disability?!? Andrew is so whiny. I didn’t feel the chemistry at all.

Don't pretend to be something you are not

The narrator JOE ARDEN was not good at all There was a character within the story who Is puerto rican Not all puerto rican people sound like that I should say not any puerto rican people sound like that As a puerto Rican man I did not appreciate What he tried to do which in turn made me feel sick

Love ZA Maxfield's depiction of human behavior

She writes so deeply about behaviors and conditions that other authors don't consider. My own Mom is just slightly a hoarder and I was so pleased to see address this issue in such a respectful way.

I've enjoyed every book I've read of hers and this is no exception. Out of the ordinary, a worthy read. Or listen...

Joe Arden isn't among my favorite narrators, a bit too monotone and slow for me. Not so bad that I avoid his narration though.

Cha Cha Eddie

The Story: 4 Pants Off

I love ZAMs books so much and this one was a great addition to The Brothers Grime series. Eddie has the hots for his nieces teacher Andrew and luckily the teacher has the hots for Eddie.

They begin a tentative relationship that turned out to be hot as fire which surprised the ever loving eff out of me.

While Eddie does do crime scene cleanups this delved away from that and moved into the cleaning up of someone who hoards who happens to be Andrews father. That brings up a whole lot of issues and the men have to try and restore and already fragile bond.

Also, they were hot fire together.

Downside, I wanted more gore and crime scene cleanup. I love that ish!!

The Narration: 4 Pants Off

I loved what Joe Arden did here with Eddie. I swear I lived for that voice the whole time I was listening. It had that nice Latino accent but it wasn’t overdone just smooth and it left me in a puddle. This might be my fave Joe Arden Narration.

Definitely would listen again!

Adorable and hot

I adored this book a lot. The chemistry between the two were hilarious, heartwarming and sexy. I admit with my own connection with a hoarder made me skip a lot of the parts with Andrew's dad, but overall he was a good guy and I'm glad things all work out in the end with everyone.

My heart aches

Without spoilers, all I'll say is my heart aches for those wired differently and/or struggling with their mental health. The author did a stellar job showing the struggles from various sides, keeping it realistic without being preachy. Based on this performance, Joe Arden has been added to my favorite narrators list.

Love this narrator! Love the Grime Bros books.

He’s not my favorite voice. His recording isn’t perfect. But he just gets it. That makes all the difference in an audiobook! He gets the emotions. He delivers the lines with the right tone - the humor, and the conflict, and the darker stuff.

I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of writing by Z. A. Maxfield and narration by Joe Arden. The Brothers Grime books are some of my favorites. Over 1000 titles in my library and I can count on fingers and toes the number I’ve listened to more than once. Jack and Eddie are on that short list.

Why, oh why is Gabe’s story not available on audible?! Please, hire Joe to record that one and make it available to us too.

I really am fond of this world and these characters. They are done so well. Touchy subjects handled with grace and understanding. Really very nice.

The St Nachos series is also a good one, but this narration is far superior.

Sweet story with some steam.

this story was relatable over coming obstacles such as dyslexia, hoarding and insecurities with on a self. the story between Gabe and Andrew was sweet with some steam thrown in between. I always enjoy Joe Arden and this was the second book I've read/listened to from this author and I enjoyed it just as much as the first.
