Story
They say when you take revenge against another you lose a part of your innocence. But I'm not innocent. I haven't been for a very long time. My innocence was stolen from me. Taken was the life I was supposed to have. The soul I was born with. The ruby heart embedded in a life full of hopes and dreams. Gone. Vanished. I never even had a choice. I mourn that life. Mourn the what-ifs. Until now. I'm ready to take back what was always meant to be mine. But every plan has a fatal flaw. Sometimes it's the heart.

But some scars feel like kisses. When the shattered pieces of their hearts are forced to meet again, the two of them must decide how much pain their love is worth enduring.

Our marriage is a sham. I'm the first to admit it. Only privately, of course. Notorious playboy Luka Zoric needs a wife and the good PR it brings. I just need the career boost being his top model will give me. It's a win-win - on paper. But since when has real life been simple? His jealousy makes me crazy. The control he maintains over my body is unacceptable. I really shouldn't be so turned on by it. But there's more to both me and my husband than meets the eye.And it isn't long before I'm wondering - which of us has made the bigger mistake?

It’s natural to want the one you can’t have. And for as long as I could remember, I’d secretly wanted my brother’s best friend, Jace. He was six years older and always treated me like the sister he never had. Fast forward a decade. We were all in our 20s now. Jace had moved in with my brother, Nathan, and me to help us make ends meet after our parents died. It was just the three of us - an odd family dynamic. Living under our roof, Jace was as bossy and protective as ever. But he certainly didn’t look at me like a sister anymore. That was what made things so complicated.

The Sebastians own this city. Hell, they own the whole world. All I want is one little piece of it, a corner that I can call my own. So when my boss runs away to “find herself”, I seize the opportunity and dive head first into the Sebastian’s glamorous universe. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted - fast paced and high stakes - and, even though I don’t fit in, I’m excellent at faking it. Until I come face-to-face with the man in charge, Scott Sebastian, the arrogant playboy heir with the mind of a devil and the body of a god and a mouth I can’t stop thinking about.

Publisher's Summary
The highly anticipated follow-up to Bang. Echo is the second book in the Black Lotus series.
It's been said the longest echo ever measured lasted 75 seconds, but I can assure you, this will last much longer.
The bang deafened the world around me, muting everything into nullity, allowing the reflection of its destruction to live far beyond its intended life. It will follow me forever, destroying me - destroying you.
You want answers? So do I.
Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only, as some scenes may be particularly disturbing.

Wow. This is messed up.
I'm conflicted on this story. Some of the things my ears were subjected to hearing in this audiobook are so heinous and ugly that I thought at times my ears would bleed. But I feel hallowed out and scraped raw and it has been my experience in the past that books that have the ability to evoke such intense emotion in us are the books that stick with us long after we read the last page. My issue is, I don't like these feelings too much. This is not a feel good book. It is jammed full of tragedy. Just when you think there is a chance that the main characters might make it out on the other side of these tragic events, maybe not whole or completely sane, but you begin to search for that light you can sense coming just at the end of the tunnel...only to find out that the light is a train barreling headlong to smack you on your a$$. For me the story became unbelievable. In my opinion, where there is only darkness, there can be no light. There was no balance in this book. It was chaos, hate and utter hopelessness and to top it all off, there was a monster cliff that Ms. Blair left us hanging off of...again. Not a happy camper right now.

Perfection
The second Audio is just as good as the first. How can two twisted, dark, monsters find happily ever after and the solace they both desperately need and crave? The twist, turns, and mangled web goes back generations and connects these two tighter than either of them ever thought. Another fantastic job by the narrator. Both male and female voice work was done to perfection. I cannot wait to start on Audio 3. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes a dark, hot, and psychological love affair.

Gasp
I had to wait a day before writing a review because I had to digest.
This story begins where Bang left and just like in Bang, you listen while your emotions are thrown around. You go from hating a character to loving a character to finding out a character has been betraying another from the start. It's all so much.
I think Bang was better than Echo, but maybe because it was more explaining why everyone is who they are. Now in Echo, it's more of an action romance. Still loved it, still will be holding my breath for book 3.

Awful
The whole series was awful. I thought it would get better once I got to book 2 it didn’t. Yes, I tortured myself for book 3 since I needed to see who was alive.
The story line is unrealistic and disturbing. The end of the book was ridiculous! Don’t waste your time. I can’t believe I did.
The narrator was good the only plus!

5 Emotionally Draining Stars!
This was a great follow up story and a lot of things get answered. This book is just as dark, thrilling, and twisted as the first book. There is still so much to learn and the cliffhanger has me intrigued, but I am emotionally drain and don't know if I can go on to book 3. How much can one person take?

There's a Book 3 coming....
Cliffhanger ending...someone is still alive...who it is will be answered in book 3...I guess. This listen was a struggle mostly because it is a rehash of old news, there were a few new bits to the story. I am kind of tired of being teased into buying book after book and it really has to be good to get me there...I haven't decided with this one yet.

Dark and intriguing
Just like The first book, flashbacks to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse were difficult to listen to. This is not a feel-good read. The main characters are twisted and damaged. It is dark, intriguing and emotional with a few plot twist to keep you guessing.
It contains a few explicit sex scenes, not all are consensual.
If you are OK with everything listed above, I highly recommend this book. It is really well written.

Astoundingly good.
I listened to this in close succession to Bang and cried for the first half an hour. I found this darker but much more emotional than her first book (possibly because I was already enmeshed with the story).
I did get a little fed up with all of Elizabeth's tears, but it was an emotional rollercoaster.
Again really well narrated by Elena Wolfe, however, the Scottish brogue could have done with more polish.
There is a massive cliff hanger of an ending though, with no indication that I can see of when to expect a follow up.
Overall an excellent audible book.
