In 1893, there's no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box. Publisher's Summary
From the award-winning author of Storm at Keizer Manor.
Emma's life changes the day Ruben Templeton walks in and asks her out on a date. Over dinner, Ruben's undivided attention flatters her, and she's a little disappointed when his best friend, Jesse Kimball, joins them. Jesse is a senator's son who just announced his candidacy for mayor.
Accustomed to a quiet life, insecure 27-year-old Emma is hesitant but excited when Jesse calls the next day to invite her to his birthday party. It doesn't take long for Jesse to sweep her off her feet, and when Emma receives devastating news, he asks her to marry him.
From the moment she agrees, their relationship starts to deteriorate. Hurt and confused, Emma turns to Ruben for advice. Ruben suggests the young couple to give each other space. Time Emma can use to help him locate his younger brother Axel, who has gone missing. Emma agrees, and soon finds herself on a road trip across the country.
Will Emma and Jesse's temporary separation clear the distance between them, or will she find love in the arms of another man?

Fabulous story with lot's of turns
Eagles in Flight was a love story in three what felt like three parts. The main character, Emma, begins her journey with very little self-confidence, almost to the point where she was difficult to relate to. I wanted to shake her at times. Perhaps, that's why when she does begin to stand up for herself and become a stronger version of herself, it felt all the mote gratifying to me as the reader. I do not want to give anything away about the storyline. I'll just say that Eagles in Flight was a thoughtfully written book that kept me interested from beginning to end. The narrator was fabulous, as well.

Just ok for me
I wanted to love this book more than I did. I like the premise but the execution just didn’t win me over. As the reader when I finished I couldn’t figure out why the first half of the book stretched on so long. I feel like the author could have made that part a lot shorter. Then when Emma does find love I didn’t feel like I was given enough of the couple.

An imaginative and fun adventure
Romance, deception, a cross country adventure, a little unique super sleuthing, a foray into the off-the-grid wilderness with a significant appearance by a handsome hairy wildman - all the plot directions were designed to trigger visualizations and creative imagination. There was a twist I did not see coming which added spice. HEAs for all characters by the end soothed my ragged book soul after a few dystopian tragedies. This tale is all heart, with themes of forgiveness, transformation, and redemption. Light and inspirational.
This story is brimming with engaging characters (good and nasty, selfless and selfish, genuine and shonky - something for everyone). The character development is very fun. It is so easy to warm to an ugly duckling transformation, There is a strong fairy tale vibe throughout which I loved but would have liked the ending to be just a little bit less neat and more grounded. But I am being picky. I can't finish without mentioning the flawless narration pace created by Belinda Lams' who adapted her style to the MC so nicely. I was swept along with the narration from the beginning and stayed up late to finish. This is a quality book experience.

Slow Start, Rushed ending
3rd person stories aren’t my favorite. A lot of times it’s hard to get into the head and heart of the characters from 3rd person, but this wasn’t so bad for me. There were so many different things happening at the same time in a small time frame in the beginning of the story I got confused as to how much time had actually passed. As I got to the end of the story, everything came together but it felt so rushed. It felt like the story could’ve spread out a lot of the events over a bigger time span.
Again, the story came together and there was an HEA so I was overall pleased.

Not your ordinary Romance Novel...
Admittedly I wasn't expecting author Ramcy Diek to outdo herself from her first novel "Storm At Kaiser Manor".
But once again, she drew me in and just when I thought I had guessed the direction this story was trailing, another twist I hadn't seen coming piqued my interest back in with a greater sense of interest on the continual creative plot.
Well done Ramcy Diek, I really enjoyed this riveting story and the way you wove the characters in and out...it was obvious to me your artistry in creating and writing a story that was much more than a romance novel is golden!
I'm excited to read your next one too!
Highly Recommend !

Nice easy listen
I always think novels are good when you have strong reactions to them - or to the characters. While listening to this, I got angry, sad, sympathetic, happy and cried. Emma is a lovely character and goes through an amazing self discovery, which I took to be more the central theme than romance. I enjoyed it, a lovely, cosy, country feel romance.

I enjoyed listening to the audio version of this book. At first glance it is a girl meets boy love story but it soon becomes clear that there is much more to the story. I love Emma’s character and how she develops throughout. There are quite a few twists and turns within the story that had me gripped and wanting to hear more. The narrator was great. It’s a thumbs up
