The Galactics arrived with their Battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined a vast Empire that spans the Milky Way. Our only worthwhile trade goods are our infamous mercenary legions, elite troops we sell to the highest alien bidder.
In 2122 a lost colony expedition contacts Earth, surprising our government. Colonization is against Galactic Law, and Legion Varus is dispatched to the system to handle the situation. Earth gave them sealed orders, but Earth is 35 lightyears away. The Legion commanders have a secret plan of their own. And then there's James McGill, who was never too good at listening to authority in the first place....
In Dust World, book two of the Undying Mercenaries Series, McGill is promoted to Specialist and sent to a frontier planet outside the Empire. Earth's status within the Empire will never be the same.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dust World?
No Spoilers from me I will just say book 1 ( Steel World) and this book 2 (Steel World) are my most memorable moments, the stories are A+.Which character – as performed by Mark Boyett – was your favorite?
McGil,but let me say Mark Boyett is a exellent narrator he brings nothing but greatness to all of B.V Larsons audio books. I have listened to nine Star Force books and now two Undying Mercenaries all 11 narrated by Boyett and I can honestly say I never get tired of him he is one of the very good ones.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
They just put me in a good mood and I don't watch the clock while listening like I do with many other books.Any additional comments?
This is my own personal opinion and we are all maybe looking for something a little different, maybe not but either way for me B.V Larson is the absolute best Military SiFi writer right now and has been since Star Force, heck IMO he is the best SiFi writer period. His style is not hard SiFi it is just his story laid right out in front of you easy to follow yet very full of SiFi substance. If you can't already tell I highly suggest you listen to this series and if you have not already listened to his Star Force series do that as well.B.V Larson and his new series = GREAT!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If they are into fun sci-fi military action I would recommend this in a heartbeat.Who was your favorite character and why?
As much as I love McGill. Graves just whenever he talks I know it is going to be good. He is just such a no bullshit character and its great. That being said Dreusus? Varus's leader got a bit more talking time in this book and you know as well when he speaks it is going to be good. Tourov as annoying as she is I still think she is great character. Yah she has it out for McGill and does not handle things in the best way but I still think she is great.Have you listened to any of Mark Boyett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I listened to Steel World and while its the same characters I think he does a great job narrating. He does have an older sound to him that can be a bit jarring at first listen but you get over it quick and I really enjoy his performance in both these books so far.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This book is not one to give you the feels to bad. If anything I feel like McGill is the average man and you can relate to his misgivings about certain actions so in that sense I feel for what McGill sometimes has to put up with and his opinions on things.Any additional comments?
I came into this book honestly expecting more of the same. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this was truly a different adventure. The first half or more of the book is just a great story. I do not want to spoil anything so while it a lot of action and such. There was much more diplomacy and discussing then before which was amazing. The last maybe 5th or 6th of the book really is what got my attention. Not only the implications for Earth but that the whole political landscape of the galaxy may not be what it seems is what truly fascinates me. Looks like there is way more to this series then I originally thought. I am even more excited to dive into the next book in this series and I really hope it keeps up the momentum. For a book series I was not to sure about and picked the first book up on a whim. I have fallen for this series and am so stoked to get lost in this series.Well Done!
