Love the story. Hate the narration

This is a very fun and steamy story. I love everything about it. Unfortunately the narration by Tracy Marks was driving me crazy. I could barely follow up the story when she was narrating. Everything about her narration was weird and uncomfortable. I have decided to skip every audible she is included on. Stephen Dexter was great!

All the FEELS!!!

This book truly surprised me in many ways. I had a feeling it would make me giggle and swoon based on the the blurb. What I didn't expect was the rage, tears, hate, love, and stomach grabbing laughter. I felt every emotion while reading this book and continued to feel them for hours after finishing. I want to tell you why I have all those feeling but fear I would give away to much. I wish there was a way to give this book more than 5 stars!!!

This is the first book by Stacy Krestwick that I have read and I must admit, she now has a huge fan following her work! I cannot wait to read her other works!

Surprisingly Emotional College Romance!

I really enjoyed this audiobook a lot! I was pulled into the story very quickly and I loved that it was set in the college band world. It was a refreshing take on the typical college new adult romance. What surprised me was how emotional the book ended up being. I was not expecting some of the heavier aspects of the story, but I felt that the author handled them very well.

This was my first book by Stacy Kestwick and first audiobook narrated by Stephen Dexter. I enjoyed the writing style (though some of the dialogue from one of our younger characters had me raising my eyebrows quite a few times). Stephen Dexter and Tracy Marks did a wonderful job bringing Laird and Reese to life. Laird was equal parts alpha male and sweet and vulnerable. Dexter made Laird's emotional moments incredibly moving and powerful. My heart really broke for him and how he struggled to cope and reconcile his guilt. Reese was fiercely independent and though I respected her resolve and drive, she was also incredibly stubborn. I was frustrated at times with both characters, but the story felt realistic and I understood the motivations driving them both. Reese and Laird had amazing chemistry though and their scenes were absolutely smoking hot! I also loved Smith and he brought a lot of levity (and at times a voice of reason) to the story. I did hope that there would be some redemption for Marco and that perhaps he was just misunderstood/going through his own emotional upheaval, but sadly it was not in the cards. Overall, Drumline was a sexy, funny, and emotional audiobook. Definitely recommend it!

Good story!

I loved these characters and wish there was another book so we could see what's going on a few years later considering the characters are so young. I was first introduced to this book via a interactive gaming app. then I read the book through the Kindle app. listening to this book really didn't do it for me. I honestly think it was the narrators. the female did this weird breathy thing at the end of her words....it was weird. she also didn't sound confident or sarcastic enough for this character. it was even worse when she tried to voice the male character. the male narrator wasn't so bad. I'm just a fan of a deep voice which he didn't have. and I guess I just imagined a deep sexy slow southern draw when I read the book, or Matthew McConaughey ish. neither one of the narrators sounded sarcastic enough for me so I feel like it made alot of the witty banter fall flat.

She’s fighting to be on the drum line, he’s fighting for her!

I was really captivated by this audiobook story'! The characters were complex and their romance was mesmerizing. Reese is a girl who is trying to win a place as the first woman playing on the college drum line which has historically been an all male domain. She has a lot of work to do to prove she’s good enough to deserve it. The captain of the drum line, Laird, is immediately attracted to her in a big way, while the second in command has it out to ruin her chances. This story was a great college age romance, with complications from family dynamics as well. The relationship that developed between Reese and Laird is a hot and complicated one. I loved the ending and the dynamics of the members of the drum line team. Narration was just excellent as well. I give this 5 Stars all around as great entertainment.

I don't ever comment with my reviews. But I have read and then listened to drumline twice and I will reread over and over again. I highly recommended this book 5stars!!!!

Emotional!

NA isn't really my jam, but I ended up loving this story! Emotional without being angsty, sexy without being trashy, heartfelt without being maudlin!

the WORST female narrator

The female narrator makes this almost unlistenable. Hate her attempts at breath-y ending to EVERY phrase. EXTREMELY annoying.

Good book

I enjoyed the book, it had a little bit of everything and I liked how it ended. I hurt for Reese and what she was being put through by Marco and I’m glad he got what was coming to him.

I liked Laird, it broke my heart all he had been through and how he felt thinking no one cared for him enough to stay. I’m glad he got his happy in the end

The male narrator was great, no complaints. The female, I really disliked. Her voice was just wrong and the way she delivered the lines was just annoying. And her male voice was even worse.

Book would have been so much better with a different female narrator

Where does Drumline rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like the story line and loved the fact that this turns out to be about a girl who is determined to make her way onto the Drumline at her College. The story is unique The narration is very good.

Loved the narrators voices thought it went well with the story. a good book to lose yourself with a genuine hint of reality and a good dose of good behaviour ;)

Good story

Loved the story but the female performance was hugely grating, her breathy ending to every sentence was near cause to stop listening

Sexy, fun and passionate!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Listening to the audiobook of Drumline was a pleasant surprise. It was fun and more emotional than I expected, with two competitors as main characters making their story beat to the sound of the drums.

Of course it was sexy and definitely hot. The weather in Alabama was getting hotter by the minute with Reese and Laird.

Laird was the cocky, arrogant and well once again a surprise. Definitely more than meet the eyes. Having fun, being this charming and flirty guy who didn’t need any help to get any girl he wanted… until Reese who literally swept off his feet. Damn if I didn’t like his persistence… Go Laird!

But it wouldn’t be interesting if she was kinda forbidden, the new girl in the band were messing with his head. From the beginning these two were attracted to each other but well with both their positions things would get messy and complicated.

I appreciated Reese and Laird, they were a great match, these two together bring the hotness to the yard, but there so much more to say about them, even if their lives mostly centered around the band, it was interesting to have some development, giving more depth to the characters. Appearances are deceiving and Reese and Laird were the perfect example.

More than half of the book, alternating between each characters was great to listen, from their aspirations, their dirty thoughts (it seemed that people were really horny in that book), and so many things that made you want to learn more about them.

I was struggling in the last part of the book, where things were getting out of control at times, adding a bit too much drama that I think wasn’t that necessary to the story, but it was my opinion. Anyway, I enjoyed it, and even though I wasn’t a band nerd, the author managed perfectly to share the passion and enthusiasm about it. Both narrators nailed their parts, giving life to Reese and Laird so wonderfully.

Something a little different

A lovely college romance following the Rodner University Drumline and the wannabe players who will do pretty much anything to make the cut in this prestigious university sports band. Laird Bronson is the captain and of course, he’s the main man, sexy, kind and completely into Reese Holland, who is the only girl up for audition Guess what? She’s good, better than good even, and when she makes the cut she not only catches the eye of the captain, she ends up making an enemy out of the not so nice vice captain, Marco, who does an excellent job of making Reese’s life difficult. I loved the writing, dual POV, I love the characters, Reese was strong, Laird was perfect. Marco was the ultimate bad guy, Smith the perfect side kick. Just the right amount of emotion was added with the addition of Eli and Amelia and a whole host of drama. Brilliant narration as usual from Tracy Marks.
