this is so beautifully written. I’ve never had a book make me sob the way this book just did. This book is painful but real.

Great job describing the life of a young gay boy growing up in the South during the time of major homophobia.

Silent Lovers

This was a book with a ambiguous but happy ending. These two were each others light. In a world of darkness. It is tragic and beautiful.

Heartbreaking

What a beautiful, horrible, shocking—yet ultimately tender and heartfelt —examination of young love, hope, and loss. This story will stay with me for a very, very long time. Michael Crouch is a masterful performer—able to convey characters’ innermost thoughts, dreams, desperation and, finally, surrender, as though we were standing in the characters’ minds ourselves. I’m truly saddened by this story—it will rip you apart, even as it grants peace to its protagonists. A truly moving performance of an excellently written (short) book.
