Publisher's summary

Theo: I follow my passions, and if I happen to enjoy alcohol and sex, well, I’m an artist, right? No family or friends, so I can do what I want, when I want. That is, until an incident lands me in hospital, and I find myself spellbound by the hot-as-hell doctor.

One date turns into two, then three, and more. I don’t know what I want anymore, I’m falling, I’m drowning...it scares the hell out of me. Can he heal me?

Grant: My life has stagnated. I worked hard to become a doctor, and I love what I do. The routine leaves no room for dating, but that’s life, right?

That is, until an artist who’s decorated himself as much as his canvases falls into my life. He’s wild, chaotic, a handful, and broken. He drives me crazy, but I’m starting to hope. Can I keep him forever? Can I heal him?

After an embarrassing first encounter in the ER, Theo and Grant are drawn to each other, their feelings deep right from the start. They have nothing in common, opposites in every way. But somehow, it works...until it doesn’t. Their feelings are suddenly keeping them apart, and it’s hard to find a way back. Can they heal each other?

A STORY OF SELF-DISCOVERY AND PATIENCE

I received this audio book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Theo is a very disturbed artist because of the treatment from his mother because he was gay. He feels lost and is very self-destructive. Grant is a doctor who hasn’t had much time for love and when he meets Theo, his world is turned upside down. With a meddling nurse and his mother, he feels trapped.

The interaction between the characters is sweet and I got emotionally involved in the fear that Theo feels. Grant’s hurt was palpable.

The narration was okay. I had a little trouble understanding the narrator’s ‘ou’ sounds. It took me a while to get used to them. There could have been a little more emotion in the characters’ mood changes.

A bit of Angst

There is a fair bit of Angst in this book. I really liked the two MC's and with Theo being an artist I expected a lot of internal angst.
This is a lovely age gap story and the back and forth banter between Grant and Theo was really enjoyable. These two fit really well together after a bumby start. I really enjoyed how the narrator brought this book to life.

A nice story

I have to admit this and I'm very surprised but this was not a easy book for me to get into. Now don't get me wrong. I have read almost all of Romeo Alexander's books and I have yet to run into this issue. But it took me forever to finish this book. My mind just kept drifting away. So I'm sure it is just me being ridiculous because I have yet to find a Romeo book that I hated.
The book my have given me issues, but I highly highly recommend this author.

angsty much???

Angsty much??? YES!!! At times I wanted to shake Theo and Grant. I enjoyed the age gap and the banter. They fit together well, after things hot ironed out. I enjoyed their story. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review . The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Meet Cute = Ackward!!!

Moody artist with a bleeding soul meets stead fast doctor with the patients of a saint. Both men are lonely without knowing what they are missing...each other.

Theo is a bit self-destructive and lives life according to how he is currently feeling. He paints when the mood strikes him and drinks, smokes, and has sex a little too flippantly in between times. He is constantly trying to squash that feeling that nothing is ever good enough and is always waiting for that other shoe to drop.

Grant is a creature of routine with everything planned out on a calendar, even his "spontaneous" outings. It would be irresponsible of him not to let his staff know where he is at all times, he is a doctor after all. What if there were an emergency? Shrouding himself in the predictable keeps him from having to feel the gaping emptiness inside.

How Theo and Grant keep crossing paths when there two worlds are light years apart is almost cosmic, and definitely needed. Neither one if them know how to fix what is broken inside them. They can't heal on their own, but if they don't blow their chance, they won't have to do it alone.

😍🔥

I'm loving this series. The realism and humor mixed with heartfelt dialogue. Each one a little different than the last but just as good.

Riveting Romance

Story 5 Stars
Audio 5 Stars

Another great story by Mr. Alexander. I enjoyed the easy reading style and the upbeat theme. Theo is a temperamental artist that lives life to the fullest. He enjoys an easy going lifestyle and his recent evening out, lands him in the ER with an extremely embarrassing situation. Nope, no clues, you will have to read this awkward but highly amusing story yourself. The doctor Grant working that night is older than Theo and handles the medical emergency with a great deal of diplomacy. Theo gets the chance later on to let the doctor know he is interested in him. Grant is not looking for anything right now and work is his refuge. They finally start spending more time together. Grant finds himself getting drawn into the fiery artist's strong personality. Neither can see this as anything beyond some fun. The age difference will always be there. Theo is a very complex individual with a darker past that Grant knows. His erratic habits while painting and his wildness all stems from his childhood. Grant and Theo made such a believable couple despite their glaring differences and the age gap. Grant can offer a steady and secure world but can a man that has run from demons his whole life except this? A wonderful romance with 2 MCs that are far from perfect.
Audio narrator Mr Keith Smith. The audio production was professionally done and the narrator Keith Smith was wonderful. I loved his proper and gentle tones used for Grant and his more expressive speech for Theo. A marvelous addition to a great story that I highly recommend. Happy listening!

Not enough to connect

This book was a rough start for me. I just didn't feel the connection between the characters. They never dived deep enough into either characters personalities to really be able to understand and root for them. It got a little better closer to the end. Almost like pulling them apart finally allowed us to see them better. But it just wasn't enough for me. Also this narrator was not too my liking. The voice was pleasant enough, but it felt more like the book was just being read to me most of the time. Not enough performance.
