Publisher's Summary

Once upon a time there was a fisherman and his wife.... Scratch that.... Once upon a time there was a fashion designer and a dragon shifter from another world....

Arianna Travers creates clothing that brings joy to others. Haunted by her mother’s disappearance and tormented by her overlording step-uncle, Arianna desires to escape reality, even if it’s only through the tip of her charcoal pencil.

A royal of Ellehcor, Kyan the dragon shifter spies the forlorn beauty through a magical window to another world. To meet her face-to-face, he leaves the sanctuary of his home realm and enters the portal, transforming into a dragonfly.

Things don't go as planned when Kyan becomes entangled in spider silk. Arianna discovers the little blue dragonfly and rescues him. As a reward, Kyan offers to grant her wishes, but before Arianna can make a wish, the Overlord steals it from her.

As Kyan and Arianna’s relationship blossoms, so does the breadth of the Overlord’s wishes. Kyan strives to save Arianna from her uncle and his devious plans, but what can a dragonfly do?

Baskerville Book Reviews

Dragonfly Wishes gets a hard pass from me. This book is way too janky to recommend. This review will contain minor spoilers, not that I think it matters, as it’s not worth reading.

There’s a scene where Arianna’s uncle is swatting at Kyan the dragonfly because he’s afraid of him. He tells her to flush it down the toilet. Another scene plays and then suddenly he’s referring to her “magical wish-granting friend” and setting up a store for her to sell her designs. One minute, he’s telling her he’s going to penalize her for drawing, and the next, he’s setting up a store. In one scene, Arianna finds out Kyan is a prince. She asks if dragons wear crowns. Then in a later scene, she gets on him about being a prince and not knowing his mother was a queen.

See where I’m going with this? It’s constantly jumping the plot forward and references moments that didn’t happen. I was seriously wondering if somebody just cut out 80% of the book and expected it to be coherent. It clearly builds up to Arianna leaving her world to live in Kyan’s, he constantly talks about her as if he’s in love. But they barely know each other. The audiobook is 3 1/2 hours long. That’s not enough time to get invested in or care about these characters or their issues.

Maybe if the book didn’t seem as if it was time skipping constantly, and had a coherent plot, it could work. The first time, I thought I zoned out and missed some important plot points. But then it kept happening.

I’ve made it known numerous times in my reviews that I can’t stand narrators who make up words. “Onvelope” isn’t a word. you don’t “onter” a room, “ongage” with other people or “ontertain” guests at a party. There’s also an obnoxious static present throughout the background of the book that I found distracting and unprofessional.

Fun sweet short story

Cute fairytale retelling of a Grimm brothers tale. I liked the contemporary spin.

The narrator did a great job voicing dragons & a dragonfly as well as people.

paranormal fairy tale where wishes come true

So, while I liked the story line it read to me like a spin on a paranormal (shifter) Cinderella story. Main characters are Arianna (a fashion designer) forced to work under her ogre of an uncle and Kyan (who comes to Arianna as a dragonfly) from another world. I thought there were parts that seemed to lull a bit and I really didn't like the tone the narrator used for Kyan when in dragonfly form - seemed like such a wimpy voice for such a strong character - why do a different tone for the same character - was a bit confusing. Otherwise both the narration and the writing were well done with a unique storyline that was interesting.

I received this book for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

Genie With Wings

I loved this book. It was great. Kyan, a dragon shifter, becomes a dragonfly when he enters our world. He's already in love with Arianna after seeing her through the portal. Arianna designs clothing for her mean uncle. She finds a trapped dragonfly and rescues him. Little does she know that her life is about to change. I do hope there will be more in this series.

It's a good story

Forget the fairy tale retelling, this is a good story on its own! I enjoyed the characters and the mystery of the missing persons.
The narrator did a good job setting the scenes with her clear and lively descriptions. I hope there is a book 2 with more girls/dragons finding each other and the mothers story coming to light. Clean book.

DRAGON HEART

PHENOMENAL! HILARIOUSLY FUNNY. ARIANNA IS MISUSED BY HER UNCLE AND BELITTLED AT EVERY TURN.
HELP COMES AN UNEXPECTED DAY IN THE FORM OF A DRAGONFLY? YES THAT IS CORRECT A DRAGONFLY! HE GRANTS SOME WISHES FOR ARIANNA AND HER DESIGNS TAKE FLIGHT, HER UNCLE IS BEYOND EXCITED AND DECIDES TO EXPAND NATIONALLY, THEN INTERNATIONALLY. AND THEN ARIANNA FINDS HERSELF IN A WORLD OF NO ESCAPE. BUT HER FRIENDSHIP WITH CAYENNE THE DRAGONFLY HAS BLOSSOMED INTO SOMETHING MORE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLEAN BOOK FOR TEENS AND ADULTS ALIKE! YOU ARE GOING TO LAUGH!
ARE THERE MORE BOOKS COMING ?
A VIRTUAL HUG FOR THE AUTHOR!

You’ll dream wish for a great listen

This is my first listen by the author Rochelle Bradley. The author wrote a very detailed story with strong word building. The characters are strong. Like how she took a fairytale and did her own spin on it expecially with a paranormal mon .

Heroine is Arianna. Hero is Kyan ( the dragon shifter) .
Kyan Is a Royal dragon who has spied On Arianna . He has seen how depressed Arianna has become. He does something to come close to Arianna, he shits into a dragonfly. As they spend time together they get closer and closer together He knows he can grant Arianna a wish , just one . Do the wish get granted or does another paranormal being ruin it for both of them .

Samantha Novak performance is great . Her voice is strong and clear . You were able to tell who the characters were
