A very long journey

I was supplied with "A Witch's Journey " for free in return of a honest unbiased review . I found this book to be very long , its nearly 10 hours long . I was expecting more 'witchery' & less journey . The romance I found to be slow & the sex seemed to be added , not because it was vital to the story , but because it seems sex has to be added to most romance stories . This audiobook didn't have the excitement that I was expecting . The narrator , Kate Tyler as usual did a excellent narration .

What did you like best about this story?

I liked when Pepper traveled. Her trip to Alaska added a great extra characters and helped develop one of the important characters, Lathen.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scenes in Alaska sounded beautiful. The narrator makes the characters distinct so it's easier to follow.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I liked the book, but I thought the sex was thrown in a little quickly and was a little more graphic than I needed.

Any additional comments?

Well read! I like the narrator, Kate. She's got a good voice that's easy to listen to and brings the story to life!

Sweet Easy Read

If you are looking for a sweet easy read this is it. There is not much action or conflict in this book and there is alot of extra unnecessary fluff. Numerous times things are mentioned that I thought would come into play later but they never did and then other times things happen wit no explanation when there really needed to be one. That being said it was a very enjoyable story overall and everything was wrapped up nicely at the end. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life with easy to understand and distinguishable character voices.

I absolutely love this book! So much attention to detail! Characters are amazing!!! Makes me want to visit Maine! This will be a go to book for sure!!

An Exciting Journey Through Lobster Cove!

This is a fun, entertaining listen full of magic, romance, humor and paranormal creatures. I really enjoyed it and, in fact, finished the book in one sitting. Kate Tyler's narration is great. She does an excellent job giving each character a unique voice which really brings the book to life. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

A Witch's Journey

Pepper has inherited her family's special property. It's a dream come true. Pepper has no idea how special the property is until all these wonderful things start to happen and then some bad ones. Before her late aunt's wife moved from the property she hired Lathen to handle some of the renovations. Pepper and Lathen almost immediately hit it off. But they both have lots of secrets to be revealed before either can have a happy ending. Kate Tyler does a fantastic job on the narration.

Great setting

The narration was well done however the phrasing is slightly off and sounds a little bit wrong to me. The female character voices are well done, male voices are less believable but are still clear and recognizable.

Good world building and great descriptions of locations, I was able to picture the scenery and the action clearly in my mind while listening. The story was vivid and rich.

Good character development, they were complex and realistic. The chemistry between the main characters Pepper and Lathan developed very naturally and was strong.

The story is well written and I really enjoyed listening to it.

Daunting dreams, with powers!

Love and romances converge amongst even the most daunting of dramas. Pepper finds herself inheriting the place of her dreams, with stings attached, and looming.

Narration added that something extra

Pepper McKay was a witch with dreams. She always wanted to have her own animal rescue. Low and behold. She received a bequest with enough land to allow for her to have her dream. With that land came a very sexy handyman with secrets of his own.

HOT. STEAMY. DELICIOUS. Were just a few of the words to describe the handy man, Lathen. The man had very handy skill and not just to fix things around the property. I think he could be a book boyfriend, a night time dream/fantasy.

I enjoyed the story overall. I love paranormal activities, magic, shifters, witches and the like. There was heated chemistry. Charming setting in Lobster Cover but mainly on the McKay estate. There was just something about the land that got me.

Now let us switch gears a bit. I found some of the scenes to be just down right wrong. I felt they were forced and that made them feel fake. There was a story for sure but there was no depth to it. I found something missing when I got to the end of the read. I was almost hoping for more of it to allow for things to truly wrap up in my head. If you are looking for a story with magic, a witch, a shifter, enchanted land, and hot chemistry. The you have a read you will enjoy. If you are looking for true depth and a raw appeal not so much.

Narration provided that little extra needed to move things along and make tense passages feel more flowing. The audio was smooth and adjusted to speed change well.

A Fun and Entertaining Read

There are some stories which are close to your heart simply because of the setting.  Pepper wants to rescue wildlife.  That, in itself, brings me closer to the story.  I loved the detail the author surely researched to make Pepper's journey real to the listener--with a plot most believable. Equally lovely, was the support her parents gave her.

I like the fact that Pepper learns to rely on the love her family.  I also enjoy the fact that Lathen, a simple handyman (don't you believe it!) is there for Pepper.

This is a fun story with suspense and the joy of meeting the person that zings your heart, witch or no!

The narrator used certain tone and accents that jarred my sensibilities.  Of course, this is all subjective, but I feel the tone was a harsher than it should be.  Perhaps, she was interested in providing the listener a voice different from the others.  Of course, every listener will react to different voice portrayals. This is not to say she took away from the story, she just didn't bring the story to full bloom.

Bottom line:  I think this is a worthy listen and if you enjoy paranormal and romance, this one is certainly up your ally.
