Too many sexual scenes.

I really like the idea of the story but this book dwelt a lot on Cedric and I didn't enjoy his part. I felt the sexual scenes were gratuitous with him and others.

The story is great!

but the narration is not great. not great at all. Robin Hobb hasn't written a story I don't like but I wish I could get a refund for the already purchased audibles and buy them from a bookstore or for kindle or something. The narrator makes me feel like I'm sitting on the floor listening to a story before nap time.

Findings

This book series so far is all about finding - an identity, a purpose, a city, a treasure, an orientation. I am finding that I am sad that I already bought the next book.

Teenagers constantly screwing.

Literally mostly sex scenes and way too graphic. This easily slides into erotica with a fantasy setting. Very disappointed in this book but if you want sex scenes it has it. Teen sex scenes, gay ones, adulterous ones. Sigh I'm almost finished and literally nothing had happened except lots of sex between a half doz couples.

A Fascinating Tale

I really am enjoying getting deeper into this series and am so excited to learn more about the Dragons and the city they've been speaking of for a while.

Heeby and Alise are so precious and deserve all the love and praise!

Trigger warnings: death, miscarriage, some violence

Long road, but enjoyed the story

It’s getting harder for me to read these books straight through. I love the world building and story overall. Some of the character conflicts seem to drag on and on and lots of repeating things we already know. I took a break about half way to listen to an upbeat book. Seemed to break up the relationship drama and allow me to finish.

Character development

Good stuff. Lots of character growth and development. Even when the character development seems a bit predictable, it is still enjoyable to watch the characters change over time. on to the next book.

Not her best

Do not like the speaker. Bird keeper parts are not necessary. Too much Hest and Cedric.
