Publisher's summary

You have to burn before you can rise.

Handsome. Commanding. Powerful. Alasdair isn't a Dragon King to sit and wait. His carefully laid plans dissolve when he comes upon an enchanting woman. Lotti's beauty beguiles him, her spirit intrigues him. The longer he's with her, the more mysteries he uncovers. And the more his passion grows. He never expects she will lead him into the heart of Stonemore—while ensnaring his at the same time. With their enemies closing in, Alasdair will do anything to protect the woman he's destined to love.

If there's one thing Lotti knows, it's that she's a danger to others. She keeps her distance. Always. But all that changes when she lands in a difficult situation . . . with a gorgeous, seductive man. Every choice somehow leads her straight back to Alasdair. She can't ignore his sexual magnetism or the undeniable desire between them. Their journey unravels everything she knew about herself to reveal a carefully constructed fallacy. Yet, she discovers an inner strength she didn't know she had. But is her yearning for Alasdair worth the risk for them both?

Contains mature themes.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better. Wow.

Amazing addition to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens. I didn’t think there could be more twists to a wonderful tale but you have done it. Great job!

Ground Shaking Truths!!!

I hadn’t expected some of the revelations contained in this book. Although they were exciting, there wasn’t as much romance between the the main couple and other characters within. These are Dragon Kings after all! She did a great job setting up where she wants to take this Dark Universe, but the story does drag unnecessarily in many places. Keep that in mind.

Better Than Expected

Just when I thought this was going to be a basic story to carry on this Dragon fantasy series, this story goes and flips my hypothesis in its head. Well done Donna Grant! This story is good. The intensity builds in a really good rhythm. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Dragon Arisen

What in the world did I just read? I had questions before this, now I have even more wand no answers expect one. I might actually be to stunned to make any sense right now. What can I write that won’t give everything away? Honestly if you have been following the Dragon Kings this book is a top contestant as best book in the series. I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning but that ending had me SCREAMING. Lotti just opened up a whole new world to us when I was still reeling from there being Elves on Zora. My biggest take away is that all the Kings, Fae, Reapers, Warriors, Dragons, and everyone on both Zora and Earth better hold on tight because we are in for a WILD ride.

How their beliefs change, it wasn’t like we thought 😠

Full of intensity that kept growing, however, I’m not sure I’m liking the new revelations. Not much romance in this one till the end, they seemed more like friends. I did like the characters, and the supposedly bad ones. This left too much unresolved for me, I hate hanging off such a big cliff for so long.
Antony Ferguson did an outstanding job as usual.

Ironic

Its ironic that a story all about the controversy about magic is not quite so magical as a whole. Don't get me wrong, I love the dragon kings, and there's props for world building due. I'm thankful that I did this book on audible because Anthony Ferguson's narration preserved much of the tone and continuity. I miss the espionage scenarios, the stealthy fae seductions, and the oh-my-god-youre-a-dragon moments at Dregon though. On the other hand I found the awkward meet cute engaging, and it allowed for necessary exposition, and the skulking about stone passages was entertaining. There was just not enough dragons for me. The wealth of characters and all their names (not essential to this story) muddied the water which began to feel pretty swampy. I'm not sad I read it. Con was still the best most recognizable character, yet he and the kings were hardly in the tale.
