Publisher's summary

Two detectives hunt a serial killer. The killer's hunting them.

A lone trucker is ambushed, shot, and brutally stabbed. A tourist meets the same fate while out for a jog. Facing two crime scenes that could have come from a horror movie, Detectives Carly Sanderson and Sergio Martin search for the crazed serial killer. Five more attacks happen in a week, launching the entire city into a panic and causing the mayor to throw all of the city’s resources into stopping the rampage. But while the detectives work around the clock, they don’t know the killer has upped the game - by making them his next targets.

Great Book

I think I loved the twists and turns the most, the ones that keep you guessing who the murderer is throughout. I did figure out one of them before they were revealed. I enjoyed how the two cases were intertwined. This was a great book and I can’t wait to listen to the next book.

Excellent

This was a book I came across on tiktok. Decided to give it shot, and I'm glad I did. The opening chapter was brutal, and the rest of the book kept me on my toes. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Talk about surprises!!!

Carly and Sergio are detective in the Tampa police department. Throughout this book, they are chasing the serial killer that was hiding in plain sight, and had his eyes on Carly.

How interesting!

I thoroughly enjoyed Double Blind. I read six sisters first so it’s nice to see the characters develop and learn their story. I did enjoy the book.

There are multiple murders going on at once and although I was able to predict where I thought it was going to go I was unsure and was waiting for the twist where I was like oh I was wrong!

Guess, what I was wrong!!!!!

If you want fast paced, development of a serial killer, while another killer is on the loose and everyone is intertwined this is for you!

I was engaged the entire time!

Loving this series on to the next!

Great read!

Fast pace thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and keep the "pages" turning! I TBH wasn't a fan of the narration of this book, but it definitely doesn't take away from the story. Can't wait to read more from this author 😍

A terrific story

Filled with twist and turns, this story will keep you listening with no stop until the end. The characters, particularly detective Carly and PI Tyree, are interesting and compelling. Three dimensional and deeply human, they are very easy to understand and sympathize with.

The plot was so well done! This was a great thriller, fast-paced and chilling. I most certainly will be coming back to this author.

Margaret Glaccum's narration was perfect.

Entertaining read

Double Blind, my third read/listen from author Dan Alatorre. I don't restrict myself to a particular genre. I'm a sucker for anything with memorable characters and a story that keeps me guessing and a plot that keeps me turning the page & this book did (third read, third different genre)! Narrator Margaret Glaccum’s narration added greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. *SPOILER I thought the kill sequences were a bit over-the-top, but that's me. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Fast paced for sure!

This is a fast paced story that keeps you thinking. The narratives from the killer's perspective were too much to take at times. If I were physically reading this book, I would skip over much of this character's narratives because they were so intense.

Fast paced and clever

Have you ever wondered what drives a killer to murder? What goes on inside their minds at the moment when they take the life of another human being? How do they justify their actions? Dan Alatorre gives the reader a unique insight into the thought process and actions of a killer in his new thriller, Double Blind, which is written partially from the perspective of the killer. Step by step we accompany the killer on his voyage of murderous discovery as he undertakes his very first premeditated murder and finds that one is not enough. No, the first one has merely wet his appetite and now he has a limited ability to control his blood lust. Even if you are convinced that you are mentally and physically superior to everyone around you, it is not that easy being a killer, especially a serial killer. Your life is beset with anxiety that somehow you will give yourself away and they'll discover that its you. The need to kill also grows and grows and you find that you cannot stop yourself, even when the risk of discovery is unreasonably high. To late you find that there is no reason left.

There is a serial killer on the loose and Detectives Carly Sanderson and Sergio Martin have drawn the short straws. This is their case and the clues and evidence are thin on the ground. The killer has been careful to clean up after himself making him untraceable and this, together with his horrifying actions, has thrown the whole city into turmoil. The citizens of Seminole Heights are to scared to go out at night and tourists are giving the city a wide berth. The killer must be found and it needs to happen quickly.

In true Dan Alatorre style, however, nothing is as it seems in this novel and false clues and red herrings abound for the reader as you work your way through this clever labyrinth of a story.

The character of Carly Sanderson was particularly appealing to me. I enjoyed reading about a female in the position of lead detective and was delighted she proved to be a woman of stamina, intelligence and fortitude. Carly is certainly no shrinking violet and holds her own in a number of extremely testing and frightening circumstances.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to readers who enjoy fast action and a clever story line. The murder scenes are fairly graphic so readers who are sensitive to violence may find some descriptions disturbing.
