Publisher's Summary

Dark, powerful forces, willing to stop at nothing. A conspiracy deep-rooted throughout our institutions. A cyber attack. An EMP. Drone warfare. Americans caught in the crosshairs. Doomsday had begun.

Author Bobby Akart once again masterfully tells a tale of a nation on the edge of societal collapse. For decades, Americans had found themselves increasingly at odds with one another - politically, socially, and culturally.

In DOOMSDAY: APOCALYPSE, book one in the Doomsday series, it was New Year's Eve. As the ball dropped in Times Square, Americans were preparing for a new year and a fresh start. Instead they'll find themselves fighting for their lives as a fuse has been lit that sent the country into chaos.

A targeted EMP attack on several Mid-Atlantic states. A cyber attack disrupts transportation in Washington, D.C. Drones unleash dirty bombs and chaos in New York City. Chaos ensues at a packed concert venue in Atlanta. And, a seemingly unrelated plane crash in the small southern town of Mobile, Alabama, adds to the confusion.

In DOOMSDAY: HAVEN, the series continues as the gloves come off and a war erupts. The nation's political leaders failed to see the signs, and now ordinary Americans are caught in the crosshairs as a second civil war looms on the horizon.

As Americans struggled to survive, they sought a place of safety where they could ride out the coming storm. However, even if they can overcome the threats confronting them, will they bear witness to an America hell-bent on destroying itself?

This is a story of a nation divided, and what that portends for our future. Remember, all empires collapse eventually, and America will be no exception. Political suspense collides with post-apocalyptic thriller fiction as the Doomsday series continues with Haven.

Thumbs up

Another great book and performance. Bobby's books have helped me get through a stressful time. My parents aren't the healthiest people. I've been taking care of them for a few years. Audible books are a treasure. I wish we had them years ago went back and forth on a tractor or shoveled barns for hours. I'm looking forward or at my cellphone for the next gem.
Thanks

Excellent storyline, realistic characters, with a lot of action and suspense

Bobby Akart is one of my favorite authors, so I already had high expectations, but wow, he really exceeded them with this book. He is truly masterful at creating a story with multiple sub-plots and characters that fit neatly together, along with a strong dose of action and mystery. I love how he gives little tidbits so we can understand the bigger picture and who may be behind the attacks that happened on New Year, but also keeps us somewhat in the dark. It adds extra suspense, which also allows us to put ourselves in the main characters’ shoes. Chris Abernathy adds his voice to the story, providing narration that is easy to follow and brings us into the book.

Ripped from the Headlines!

The Doomsday Series is a current, up-to-date series. This series captures what is going on in our beloved country right now. As a supporter of our President, it is refreshing to read a novel that shows how biased the Main Stream Media and the Democratic party is toward President Trump and we, his supporters. Thank you Bobby Akart for another fantastic series! Also, kudos to the Narrator, excellent performance!

So close to Home! Love this Series!!

Book 2 has continued with this very real threat possibility! While the story is Fiction, it plays on our political “games” of today. In many ways, It parallels the problems our President is dealing with in real life. And the problems we deal with for supporting him.
I’ve fallen in Love with the characters, which isn’t unusual with Mr Akart books!! Each character has something special to offer to the series. And the narrator for the audible book does an amazing job of bringing the character to life even more! Can’t wait for Book 3!

Kept me listening

The pace and story are good, although some of the bad guys seem overly simple.

Great continuation of the story.

The forces of good and evil are starting to come together as the plot develops.

Slowly developing story with great potential

if you like slowly developing stories with many different characters bouncing back and forth detailing their stories then this is the book for you. Potentially the story will develop into another Akart winner. I listen to audible and other than the Yellowstone series I have yet to finish the author's books. primarily due to way too much detail too many jumping back and forth characters etc.

Went too far

I have enjoyed other books by Mr. Akart, but this time he tipped his hand. First, he makes the president character (never named but clearly Trump) speak off the cuff coherently and in complete sentences. Second, he makes the "bad guy" a wealthy liberal Jewish power broker who pays anarchists to commit acts of violence to frighten the public and bring down the President. The dedicated conservative preppers are heroic, while the few "liberal" characters are either evil, amoral or annoyingly whiny. No thanks. By the way... surprise! There are politically progressive people out here who are prepping and can see the direction things are heading without drinking the Kool-Aid of either party. We have food and guns too.
