Publisher's Summary

Reese

God, I never meant to get pregnant - especially not by him. A cold, cruel, downright violent alpha? I never wanted that, but here I am broke, homeless, and expecting this psychopath's baby.

It's pure dumb luck that my baby lands in the arms of a gorgeous and protective alpha doctor that seems to have an eye for me, too.

Is this what I want? Do I want to fall into the safety of Connor's embrace? Or should I run while I still have the chance - before my son's father finds us?

Connor

I've delivered thousands of babies. So why do I go all gooey when this little guy grabs my finger? Why do I find myself staying over his incubator as if I'm his guardian?

I never meant to find a mate. I'm married to my job - but this baby's daddy is the hottest omega I've ever seen in my life. There's no way I'll be able to keep a professional distance with these two.

Seems like they're both down on their luck, especially with a dangerous alpha lurking in their past. Maybe I can give them a hand up.

The steamy 50,000-word treat is just what the doctor ordered. Blossoming romance, hot sex scenes, and mpreg lie ahead. This is for adults only, 18 years of age and older, please!

Reese💘Connor! 4.5 Smoking🔥Hot🔥Stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is a great, imaginative and romantic story of 2 male shifters. In their world the male shifters are able to become pregnant and birth a child. Preston Walker’s storylines are interesting and well written. There is great character development and buildup in the relationship of the two leads, Reese and Connor. There is great chemistry between them too. This is my first Mpreg book and I loved it, there are some nice twists, lots of drama and some hot romance, Preston Walker, thank you for this great, enjoyable story!

I listened to the audible edition, Arthur J Hoyt does a wonderful job narrating the story and bringing the characters to life. He performs the voices of all the characters, switching back & forth effortlessly while keeping the story in a perfect flow. Thanks for the great listen!!

Man pregnant (mpreg)?

This was my first Preston Walker's book. This story wasn't what I had expected at all! In fact, I don't know how I missed this, but this is an M/M story, with a man pregnant (mpreg). This was my first mpreg story, and this was totally out of my comfort zone. I was really confused at first, and because Reese had a female voice, this was even more confusing. However, overall, the story was original and the narration was good. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

confusing

I love the story, but it was confusing. Reese had a female voice, but kept referring her as him. Also to add males having children, well, did not make sense.

I don't know

I have been listening to a lot of mpreg books lately and this book seemed to bring a good book to add to my catalog. When I requested this book I have never heard of Preston Walker. I had no idea who this is individual was and what their writing style would be. I can honestly say that I still don't know what their writing style is only because I listen to this audiobook.

The audiobook made it seem as though the Alpha, Connor, was a bit simple. I understand that he is a doctor but the way the narrator brought his voice to life it made him seem a bit not Alpha, if that makes sense. I cannot seem to figure out if Connor is supposed to be from the south or if the narrator is just horrible with voices within this book.

Reese's voice on the other hand was just okay. There were times where I was into his voice and then the narrator decided to slow down and Reese became a bit high-strung. I don't know if Reese is supposed to be high but that is the impression that I got from the narrator.

In other reviews I mentioned how a narrator can make or break a book and in this case the narrator just made this book a bit eh to me.

The story was not a bad one. It was just a typical second-chance book. It isn't in my top five mpreg books but it wasn't the bottom five of my list of books either. I think if I read this book I would have a different opinion of this book but since I listened to it all I can hear is the voice of Connor in my head and that is throwing me completely off.

Maybe I will purchase the book and wait a couple months to read it to see if my opinion changes but currently the narrator made this book not the best.

I shift you not...

We open on an innocent and scared gamma named Reese. Now Reese is a good shifter with a great heart, just living in bad situations. Pregnant Reese stays at his ex lovers place till he is able to give birth and leave, all the while begging that his lover does not return... and he does.. and Reese sees something that will change how he fully feels.

A few plot points insue...

Now we are with Connor, the alpha with a heart of gold who uses his Alpha hearing and skills to be a Dr and deliver babies. No understanding why but there is just this one baby that speaks to his heart, that makes him think.. my baby..

Reese's Baby daddy finds out about the baby and will do anything to get it back, except brush his teeth apparently or be a nice person...this is where the story turns dramatically before the conclusion..

I liked the story line, it was sweet and surprised me when it didn't go exactly as I thought. Voice acting was good, I love when you get distinct voices for each character, at least main ones. Now I don't know if the world is aware of shifters, its never expressed, but when in wolf form they have to hide so I got lost... Some back story to the world would be nice.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audio book by the author, narrator, or publisher, and it's my honest opinion because I read reviews as well and wanna know if a book is worth my time...

Well developed

This was given to me via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I am not a fan on m/m but the story was well developed and had lots of twists and character development. The narrator was also good for the story. It is a shifter story where the male can get pregnant.

Not Bad for my First MPEG book...

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Doctors Orders is a very interesting shifter romance and I would recommend having some familiarity with MPEG and Alpha/Omega romances before diving it - this was my first and I found myself a bit lost and confused over certain aspects and terminology included in the story. Other than that, the plot is super angsty (not in a bad way), a bit sweet, and entertaining. I was super shocked when I saw that the dual first person POV was performed by one person - he does an excellent job of differentiating between the two main characters, as well as using different tones and voices for the secondary characters. I don't know if I'll be reading any more books in this genre (just a personal preference), but I did enjoy this one. 2.75 out of 5 wine glasses.

A pregnant man?

I don't know how I missed that this was man on man but I did. Not really my thing but that aside I was confused for the first couple chapters because I thought this was a pregnant female and it wasn't really making sense to me. I know that was my own fault but this was my first experience with a pregnant man. How does that happen?? Once I caught on to that I just found the whole thing silly. The relationship between the two males was good. The obvious love and caring for one another was evident and the mutual love for the child and it's safety came through. The only females I remember in this book were a couple of nurses at the hospital. Is this child going to grow up in an all male world? Anyway... There were just too many things here that made little sense to me and some other things that needed to be expanded on. In addition to that, I was expecting more about shifters. I like my shifter books to involve more about being a shifter, not just casual mention of being a shifter. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
