Publisher's Summary

Why is it that we seem astonished, even grateful, when someone really hears us? When they lean in and give us their time and attention.

How has this basic act become such a rare commodity? Has the one-way street of social media 'broadcasting' really marked the end of conversation and listening? Do Listen is about rediscovering the lost art of listening. How to form deeper connections, generate moments of wonder, and achieve breakthroughs after a standoff or stalemate. Yes, listening can take time. And it can be uncomfortable. Yet it is a skill that can be cultivated and mastered. It can also be a strategy. And sometimes, it will be the most important thing you ever do. What if we each took five minutes a day to actively listen? How might our world change?

Platitudinous

I was hoping for something more practical and grounded. It was too focused on the authors opinions and her stories about listening weren’t particularly illuminating . Not sure what the authors credentials for this were - she didn’t seem to have any particular expertise in the subject. Disappointing.

Do Buy!

Taking as recovering know-it-all, I simply cannot recommend this enough. BB delivers a authentic, engaging and humbling book (I feel its more like a workshop but hey).

It's short, it's relatable and most of all it's actionable!

As I've said in some of my other reviews this is a book which if carefully listened to*, will change your life (*see what I did there?)
