Publisher's summary

Finally settled into her new world and role as the Goddess Epona's Chosen, Shannon finds herself loving her life of luxury and service more and more each day. Her handsome husband is due to return from his travels soon, and the temple and its people have recovered from the terrible war months before. Even though the evil has been banished from the land and all is calm, Shannon can't seem to shake the cloud of uneasiness (and nausea) she's been feeling, even after she receives the wonderful news of her forthcoming bundle of joy.

But when a routine ride through the countryside turns dangerous, Shannon is once again pulled across the divide - back to the rolling green of Oklahoma. Sensing the darkness growing in her former world and driven by Epona's steady hand, she must rely on the tempting and sexy Clint Freeman to help her defeat the all-too-familiar evil that lurks in the shadows before she can return to her real home - Partholon.

Truly Beautiful

A truly beautiful story!

I am not sure what else to say about it. I know that I should say more, but that sentiment just feels like the perfect summation of this tale.

Trigger warnings needed

After the first book in the series I decided not to read the second, but a month and a break in books had me saying “meh? Why not?”

*spoilers and trigger warning* because of course the rape and abuse of a whole slew of women with their children bursting out of them alien style in book one wasn’t enough. This time our “evil” character is a 14 year old who is either going to be drugged and happy raped or not drugged and brutally raped. She chooses option two and then has a unsurprising reaction of having problems with sex and recreating the pain of the assault over and over and then turns evil... no. No more P.C. Cast for me. She can keep her loving raping goddess.

Good but I expected more from Shannon

(Spoilers Ahead)
So I really wanted to love this book but Shannon Parker just came off a bit selfish in this book. I get she was happy in Partholon, I even understand her wanting to stay...but when she gets pulled back to Oklahoma and finds out that Rihannon has basically been killing people, hurting her friends, selling drugs... Shannon doesn't really care all she wants to do is let Rihannon stay there and get back to Partholon. Her compassion is fleeting at best. And I don't care that the man who is helping her (Clint Freeman) is a mirror image of her husband Clinfenton, she cheated on him when she slept with Clint. It just pissed me off that she had this it's not my world anymore I just wanna go back to Partholon attitude. Shannon Parker disappointed me in this book.
