It is not “detective” story
The main detective is lazy and not very clever and the investigation just progresses on and on. Guilty party is shown very early in the book.
The story is more about psychological aspects and motivations why they hurt people.
Interesting, sometimes captivating, but I have enjoyed first book much more.
