Cute

Although this was another predictable story and not a favorite in the series, I did love these two together. Their friendship and fondness for each other was sweet and tender. I was glad to see Boomer find his forever. I loved the ending. It was still very enjoyable.

Ben and Lara

A sweet, endearing, heartfelt and highly entertaining romance. Ben and Lara are just too cute for words. I enjoyed going on this journey with them.

I wasn’t sure I’d love Boomer’s story—his puck boy antics were more cringe than cute—but Mira Lyn Kelly scored big with this one. Ben Boerboom went from penalty box material to MVP of my heart, and Lara? She’s the ultimate playmaker, matching his charm, sass, and off-the-ice swagger. Their second-chance romance was the ultimate power play: clever, sizzling, and impossible to defend against.

From high school besties to accidental roommates, their chemistry hit harder than a slapshot, and their banter? Pure highlight reel. Ben’s golden-retriever devotion and Lara’s snarky resilience made every moment a hat trick of laughs, feels, and swoon. No unnecessary drama—just two people skating toward a well-earned HEA. Whether you’re here for the hockey or the heat, this story is a total buzzer-beater for the romance win.

Not worth the credit

This book was such a disappointment. The early books in this series are full of great characters, lots of hockey talk and players, smart banter and, most importantly, interesting plot lines. The biggest thing that happens in this book is that the couple get a dog. Characters not compelling and their stories not complete. Sad about this. I love Greg Baxter, Natalie and Vasser, Rucks and Cammie, etc. But I can’t even remember the characters names having just finished listening in this one.
