Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

It’s natural to want the one you can’t have. And for as long as I could remember, I’d secretly wanted my brother’s best friend, Jace. He was six years older and always treated me like the sister he never had. Fast forward a decade. We were all in our 20s now. Jace had moved in with my brother, Nathan, and me to help us make ends meet after our parents died. It was just the three of us - an odd family dynamic. Living under our roof, Jace was as bossy and protective as ever. But he certainly didn’t look at me like a sister anymore. That was what made things so complicated.

My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod”, and she was “Montana”, but of course those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind. Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape - my sanctuary. Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out. From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed. Publisher's Summary
Abigail Haddock is stunning, sensible, and some would say...stuffy. But it's not really her fault. She was raised in one of Wessco's oldest, most affluent, aristocratic families - "stuffy" is their middle name. So is successful. Abby's working overtime to distinguish herself as a top-notch physician, just as her family legacy demands.
She doesn't have time for nonsense.
Tommy Sullivan's all about nonsense.
Sure, he's an elite bodyguard with lethal skills and co-owner of the renowned, S&S Securities Firm - protector of the wealthy and titled. But he's also rowdy, fun, and thoroughly irresistible.
Tommy knows how to have a good time, and he's never seen someone more in need of a good time than Abby. The lass needs long, wet, filthy kisses - STAT - and he's just the man for the job.
It doesn't take long for a wildly sexy, sinfully satisfying, no-strings attached arrangement to turn into something more. Something sweet and addictive and real. But Tommy and Abby are too royally stubborn to admit it.
Opposites attract, everyone knows that. But can their red-hot relationship last - can they love...for forever?

Emma Chase never disappoints!
I’ve been a fan of Emma Chase since she released Tangled back in 2013 and she has never disappointed me. If you are looking for a fun, sexy, sweet, and funny romance, Emma delivers every single time. I love the Royally Series, and while Dirty Charmer isn’t about royalty, it does tie-in because it’s about Tommy Sullivan, bodyguard, who we met in the first Royally book. Do you have to read them first? No, I don’t think so, but it would make it better and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
When Tommy Sullivan awoke in the hospital to find a sexy but buttoned-up doctor tending to his wounds, he immediately flirted with the beautiful doctor.
"You know what they say about men with big brains, don’t you? We’re big everywhere.”
“Are you implying there’s a correlation between the size of your brain and the size of your genitals?”
His brow furrows. “Well, I wouldn’t have used those words—ever. But yeah, that’s what I’m saying.”
They share one fantastic kiss, but she is all about work, and he’s all about play.
“I’m leaving.”
“Funny. Typically the girls I kiss like to tell me when they’re coming.”
Fast forward a few years, and Abby is still working non-stop and has absolutely zero social life. Coming from an aristocratic and hugely successful family, she feels that being just a heart surgeon isn’t enough when the rest of her family is off changing the world. So she is single-minded in her career.
“Perhaps I wasn't precisely happy, but I was satisfied. Then Tommy Sullivan came along and he changed all my plans.”
When her family is threatened, it’s Tommy they hire to guard Abby, and Tommy’s relentless flirting begins again. When Abby is basically told that her all-work/no play attitude is holding back her career, she decides to take Tommy up on whatever he has to offer.
"I believe God wants me to screw some joy into Abby Haddock’s life. Lucky for me, the Almighty’s desires coincide with my own. And I’m more than up to the task."
I love a light, fluffy, and fun Emma Chase read. But I will say, this wasn’t unique. I almost felt like I read it before. But Emma’s delivery is what makes it fun.
"I’m already breaking all my rules. But there’s a frenzied, frantic desire pulling inside me. Twisting me up and twirling me around. I’m caught in it, captured by it, completely at its mercy. At his mercy."
Likes:
•Emma Chase never fails in bringing me a book that makes me smile from start to finish.
•I loved that it stood alone requiring me to not remember anything, yet it still had visits from favorite characters.
•Tommy was so much fun! His cocky arrogance cracked me up.
•The dirty flirty banter. It’s Emma Chase gold.
•Lots of sexy times.
•Very little to no angst.
•Opposites attract.
Dislikes:
•Abby wasn’t the most lovable.
•I listened a couple of weeks ago and basically had to listen again to remember it. It just didn’t stand out as unique or different.
The Narration:
I loved both Andi Arndt and Rupert Channing in this. They both played their characters beautifully and I think they enhanced the read.
The Down & Dirty:
Though very similar to previous books, Dirty Charmer was a fun, light, and sexy read with all the dirty banter that Emma excels at. It can be read alone or as part of the series. If you love the kind of book where the sexy rascal loosens up the uptight socialite, then don’t miss this one. I, for one, will still never miss an Emma Chase book.

Feedback
I had such high expectations for this book because the first 3 royally books were amazing!!! I was disappointed to say the least with the story. There was hardly any action, not much conflict, or secrets. I never had the feeling of I can’t put this book down like I did with the first 3. The love stories for the first three were breathtaking, I feel in love with each character. I did not fall in love with these two and I was so excited to hear Tommy’s story but it was sadly a let down. Also, the male voice did not fit with how Tommy was described. Sad!!

He is a charmer!
If you are looking for a feel good romance, with a little angst, some humor and passion filled story, then Emma Chase is the author you are looking for! Dirty Charmer is the 5th book in her Royally series, but it stands alone and pushes all the right buttons! Abigail comes from royalty, is smart, beautiful and on the way to becoming a talented heart surgeon. When she is in need of security, Tommy Sullivan is assigned to her charge. It's not the first time she has met this cocky, good looking, fiercely protective man. But their chemistry is something that cannot be denied. They do their best to stay away from each other, but circumstances and advice lead them to a no strings attached fling. We all know how those work out though. Or is he really the player he appears to be? This is a fun listen! Abby and Tommy are filled with passion, not only in bed, but their entire relationship. Witty banter and emotional onslaughts all show how much these two are able to care. We have the pleasure of meeting the families, enjoy their points of view but when it comes down to it, will these two ever fit in each other's lives? Will coming from different classes of society may be the deciding factor? Will other women be the problem? Different goals in life? Give this a listen. I know I was shaking my head at times, frustrated and crazed by decisions and other times smiling like crazy. It's fun and easy and a pleasure to listen to.
Andi Arndt and Rupert Channing bring it all to life. These seasoned performers know exactly how to play their characters and they nail each scene. Better choices could not have been made for this entertaining story.

Nice
Not my usual reading/listening material but it was in the free packaged and performed by Andi Arndt - so it could be bad 😃
Rupert Channing was nice to listen too as well, so a 5-star rating on narrating.
So, what about the story. While I did like the main characters and I could picture the event. The storyline itself was very engaging.

Meh
The writing is fine. There are some funny parts but ultimately this was kind of boring and lacking a meaningful storyline or plot. The story is only the romance and nothing else. Two people meet, fall in love, have some “turbulence” if you can even call it that and then make up and live happily ever after. It’s not bad it just wasn’t for me. I need a tad bit more angst and action. Just saying. The narration however was great! I love an English accent!

I was in a state of perpetual laughter/*happy sigh* the entire time I was listening. Tommy was the one full of one-liners, but Abbigail charmed me in her own special way as well! These two had incredible layers of chemistry between them, both as friends and when it turned to more as well. Their story was addictive. I couldn’t get enough, and I loved being a part of the ah-ha moment when they both realized they’d navigated to the more isle of friendship. GAH, this story just made me giddy! I should really experience a lot more Emma Chase because every time that I do, my life just seems brighter! She’s fantastic. This story was fantastic. Just read it or listen to it!
I’ve listened to a whole bunch of stories narrated by Andi Arndt and she has always been a pleasure. This was my first with Ruppert Channing and I can tell you it will not be my last! Excellent team!

Loved it
Dirty Charmer was my first Emma Chase novel and I had no idea what I was missing out on. This was an opposites attract story featuring the uptight, accomplished medical resident from an affluent family and her sexy flirty bodyguard. The story was filled with humor, witty banter, some drama and likable and relatable characters. I loved Tommy and he was absolutely perfect for Abby. These two had intense chemistry and scorching hott steamy scenes and I enjoyed seeing how their relationship blossomed. This is a story that shows how being with the right person can bring out the best in an individual. It gave me all the feel s and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romance.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel and Andi Arndt and Rupert Channing did a fantastic job narrating it. They brought the story to life and embodied the characters. I loved the accents and their voices were clear and understandable. I was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Light and fun!
I’ve read/listened to just a handful of Emma Chase’s books, and now that I’ve finished this one, I’m determined to correct that!
Dirty Charmer is a light, fun story. There’s a bit of drama, but not enough to weigh the whole thing down.
The characters are wonderful. I loved that Tommy knew to balance work and play, and I could relate to Abby- I’ve been described as uptight more than a few times!
Andi Arndt and Rupert Channing did a wonderful job narrating. I loved Andi’s British accent and Rupert Channing is a new-to-me narrator whose work I will now be looking out for!
Dirty Charmer is an opposites-attract contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It’s a standalone that ends with an HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Andi Arndt does a British accent so well
I was provided an early copy of this from Valentine PR on behalf of the author. My review has not been influenced and my opinion is my own.
I have been a fan of Emma Chase for quite a few years. I only trust her to write Royal romances, honestly.
I've been waiting for Tommy's story it feels like since I first read Royally Matched. And the wait was 100% worth it.
Tommy was everything I was waiting on and Abby? She was perfect for him.
A friend to bodyguard to friends to lover situation is what we have here and Tommy Sullivan is dreamy.
I have missed Emma Chase's writing, but it was so easy to get back into. The Royally series is one of my favourite.
Andi Arndt is on point with her upper crust British Accent and Rupert Channing really brought Tommy to life.

Decent, but not great
I enjoyed some aspects of this book, but there were too many fast forward in time and summary of what’s happened sections for my liking.

Tommy is a favourite!
Tommy Sullivan is everything Abby Haddock needs in her life. He's fun, a bit rough around the edges, and SUCH a charmer!
Poor Abby comes from a family of very high achievers, and feels strongly the intense pressure to measure up. Her life fully revolves around her career, and she desperately needs Tommy in her life to learn how to have some fun. Tommy is just the man for the job and more than willing to step up and give Abby the stress relief she is looking for.
I loved Tommy's character in the Royally series, so it's no surprise he is my favourite character in this book. Loved all of the appearances by characters from the Royally series in Dirty Charmer as well, especially Logan and Ellie.
Really enjoyed the narration for both Abby and Tommy. Andi Arndt performed the highly educated and upper class Abby beautifully, and loved listening to Rupert Channing as the confident and fun Tommy.

Easy listening
Overall an easy, engaging romance with steamy moments. It is predictable but no 'surprise baby' thank God. Near the end is overly dramatic, but it levels out. Still a fun listen

nawww
Took me a bit to get set in the scene, but really liked the characters by half way. I wasn't sure as the accent of Abby rubbed me a bit wrong, but once the story unfolded I was hooked on the romance. Give me a British body guard any day....

The scoundrel with a heart.
We all awaited Tommy's book and it did not disappoint. I love the story, the vulnerable guy, the strognwilled heroine and the supportive hero.
Tommy's boisterous family full of love, her family that is as loving but subdued and he takes them on.
I just loved it. The last bit that we all needed.

Great Story
Its always great to read a good story, however, when listening, the narration is everything. Rupert Channing and Andi Arndt's narrations of this book was some of the best I have ever heard. I laughed, I cried and at times, I felt like I was watching a movie or I was participating in the scene. There performance was authentic and full of emotion. I loved this book and listened to it twice. I think I'll pick up any read that is narrated by either of these two. Great work.
