Publisher's Summary

Doctor Dire, now a full-fledged supervillain, returns to Icon City with two goals: Find her friends, and obtain enough money to afford the next part of her sinister master plan.

Only thing is not everyone she cares about is so easily located, and she must contend with gangsters, shadowy intrigues from dubious employers, and rival supervillains. Oh, and heroes, too. Can't forget them, they're everywhere. From civil-minded super-speedsters to incompetent time-travelers, all of them want to see Dire brought down for her crimes.

And when a cargo of hijacked experimental flowers turns out to be far more sinister than anticipated, she's pushed to the limit not only to survive but also to save the world itself from a horrible fate. For a profit, of course.

Villain, remember?

Can’t wait for more

Such a good series so far. I love the antihero. The humor is great and the story is just awesome. Amy McFadden does an awesome job as well. The characters really some to life. I could see this being a great movie. We need a great antihero movie (Venom doesn’t count 👎).

Great Series... But

Love this series. It's really good. All the ones after, everything basically. The "but" is actually pretty exasperating. He does a really good job keeping politics and political opinion out of the stories. But this one... The T.D.S is strong. It's just in one part but you can tell he wants his character to be the Orange Devil. To the author, I'm not a fan of the guy either. (the person hes talking about. if I name him my review will get lost). I'm not. I think you should at least get an opinion that isn't biased. Get educated. Have enmity for someone for legitimate reasons. Not made up children's stories on television.

Great story..but Why cant politics be left in the real world?

I really like this series, I like the characters and the plot lines especially for this genre of book! Definitely a new spin on established storylines. But a major contention that has dropped 2 stars for me is that there is ‘current’ political messaging put throughout the book that’s supposed to be fun and fictional. As soon I picked up on it after a very specific statement I looked back and was like thought “that’s why I haven’t liked almost any of the guy characters". I realized that almost every guy from start of series wants to do bad things to women. I really like Dire’s
character but now I can’t stop thinking that “oh she’s the strongest because she can be strong too”, and I hate thinking like that!! I’ve never thought about stuff like this until it started getting shoved down my throat from the media and Netflix and authors like this.
That being said I love this story and will muscle through like a strong woman because I want to know where it takes ME, but please stop doing this!!!!
Signed,
Just a MAN

I kinda want to voice my opinion of one part.

one scene in the book jumped out as really unnecessary and soured the otherwise good experience I've had with the series so far.

Why did the author have to make a character that appeared for a very short while, who was total scumbag evil PoS, as they usually come, to be so heavily referenced with the MAGA quote when describing the character?

He could've been just another nameless politician who has done bad things and hides them from public, which he was, but then author decided to pick on real life politics and make it seem like Dire is going to kill the previous president of USA or his supporter.

A solid follow up to the 1st book.

I really loved the character development in this book. It's a interesting parallel universe and I'm excited to get book 3.

damn good

really my only issue was with the failure to pull the trigger on a dire vorpal ship that's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5
