Addictive!

Couldn’t stop listening and I finished it in 3 days. I’ve always been a fan of diablo games so these books are bringing so much depth to the games I’ve played for so long.

Plot line Jumped around a lot.

the plot line jumped around a lot. right as something good was about to happen, it would swap to a different character.

Well done!

The way this story was written and spoken was masterfully crafted! The characters in this book are so much more ‘real’ in the sense that they didn’t come across to me as fake; in hero books I’ve read before, it’s usually the women characters that are whiny and annoying, and this wasn’t the case in this book! The scenes are vividly descriptive and the narrator is a complete boss. He did a spectacular job!

A previous reviewer seemed to be upset that all the chapters were not included in their version of the book, but I’m fairly certain this was not the case in my edition: I purchased the audiobook!

Some scenes in this book had no apparent purpose to me, and I’m not sure if those scenes will be of greater importance in books following this one so I can’t accurately say I didn’t enjoy them, but I thought it could do without them. I gave four stars for “Story” because of those seemingly purposeless scenes, and if the scenes play importance into other books in this series, I’m certain I’d rate this book as five stars all around!

I hope the narrator continues his work in this series.

Great Book

I've owned the paper back of this book for years, and I've read it enough that it's starting to fall apart, so getting to own this as an audiobook is amazing to me.
Richard Knaak writes excellent characters and thrilling stories and I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the Diablo series.

Read this book years ago<br />

... And it still holds up. Had a blast listening to it while working. Highly recommend.

Not bad for Knaak

while Knaak is not my favourite writer and could use some work on how he writes women and minorities, I did enjoy this story a lot and liked the characters. The world of Sanctuary portrayed in the books is far more expansive and interesting than the tidbits we get in game. i wish we could get more like this. Overall good story, and acceptable voice acting performance.

Despite franchise. My ears can't stop listen...

... I normally don't find stories based on games, or vice versa, that intriguing or exciting. Yet I couldn't stop listening to this, even when I'm at work. A simple line of story, yet the details are putting me right into that dark gloomy atmosphere I long for. Simple yet so good. :)
