Publisher's Summary

Ian Pierce is the chef and part owner of the hottest restaurant in Cincinnati. His chosen family is full of happy relationships, and the scruffy, snarky cop who has been haunting his dreams is one step closer to being in his bed. But everything comes crashing down when the past he narrowly escaped nine years ago comes to a deadly head.

Hollis Banner was enamored of Ian at first sight. He’s kept his distance, knowing the gorgeous, self-confident man is out of his league. Yet, there’s no standing aside when Boris Jagger escapes a raid. Jagger's world has been nearly destroyed, and this time, the crime boss is coming after Ian and his friends personally.

Hollis will do whatever it takes to keep Ian safe as they escape to a safe house with a couple of Ian's overprotective friends. And Ian finds himself in a race to unlock painful memories - memories containing information that could take down the very last of Jagger's illegal operations forever.

Trigger warning: Flashbacks to abuse could be possible triggers for some.

Cannot get enough

This is one of my favorite series. Happy to finally listen to Ian's story. Medium heat level. Not angsty. Kenneth Obi hits it out of the park again.

AMAZING

Another great add to the series. Man, do I love these guys and every character we are introduced to. If you're like me I've been waiting for Ian's book FOREVER and it was worth the wait. This is the conclusion to a lot of questions about Ian and his past. This is not a lite read and there are some heavy emotional topics. Kenneth Obi gives them justice and hits it on the head; every emotion comes to life and you really feel this book. Surprises along the way had me guessing what could possibly happen next. Action, romance and so much more in this great Audio.

Devour

This was my favorite book of the series so far. I loved Ian and Hollis. And the other guys in the group were enjoyable in the book, something I didn’t always feel in the others. I’m happy to see the end of the storyline with Jagger.

Sometimes to create angst and continuing storylines the authors do a disservice to the characters. It’s hard to believe these men are the best at what they do, those involved in personal security, after these books. Many times they’ve seemed more inept or they’ve lucked out. Jaggers end was fitting but it was through no skill of the protectors in the series. Like I said, glad the storyline has ended. I hope.

For the narrator, as I’ve said in other reviews, I think his narration continues to improve. I did absolutely hate the voice used for Hollis but I get the struggle of having that many male voices. Something I really appreciated is it seemed the characters, for the most part, have carried the same voice throughout the series. That I love! Sometimes in other books when the next book comes, the two MC’s get the previous book’s MC’s voices. And it’s tough when all the characters remain in the series. Obi does a great job carrying them throughout the book. When Snow spoke, I always knew it was Snow. Some of the others I struggled with, like Jude and Andre but overall, great job!

Excellent!

By this point it's clear that Kenneth Obi is perfect for the Unbreakable Bonds guys. He does an excellent job of bringing them to life in the 4th book in the series. I loved the book all 3 times I read it and it was just as good with Kenneth's narration.

Here we go again

I’ve been wanting Ian’s story for a while now. Wanted to see more of his and Hollis’ dancing around each other. On the one hand I wanted Ian to find his happily ever after, especially after everything he’d gone through. On the other hand, his story would undoubtedly also deal with his past as a trafficked kid. A guarantee for heartbreak if there ever was one. In the end, this book was a book where both were true.

I think everyone has been waiting for the time where Jagger would make a play for Ian again. For this showdown to happen. So when it does, the entire family, along with newly adopted Hollis mobilises to take care of their own. Though not only to protect Ian, but also rescuing the latest batch of children trafficked by Jagger. It’s dangerous to say the least, at times the dangers and flying bullets follow the other without much time for relief – or recuperation. I think the latter is my main issue with this book. All of our guys are just a liiitle bit too invincible. I don’t mean I want them to get hurt – or even worse die. But the things they do survive are just a few too many with a few too minor injuries – or more serious injuries that are just shaken off.

Even though this book deals with some truly horrifying subjects, it doesn’t go down the rabbit hole into the soul-crushing territory. It’s absolutely angsty, and you might or might not feel the overwhelming urge to take a dull knife to some well-chosen parts of Jagger when details of Ian’s past is discussed – or all of the time he was present. Still this story is more about finally accepting and letting go of the past, dealing with the demons and moving forward, and that’s something that both Drake and Elliott should have credit for.

I love Kenneth Obi’s narrations, a recent discovery, but still a big fan. He takes the characters and make them real for the listener. I love how his intensity varies with the story, the breathiness during the hot and heavy scenes, the added fear during the fights, and Ian’s fear during the flashbacks and whenever Jagger was rearing his ugly head. Obi has a variety of different voices for the characters that makes it (in theory) easy to distinguish between them. Sadly, there were a few times where his voices for Ian and Hollis were mixed and switched. While this narration wasn’t flawless or among his best, I still enjoyed every second of it. And fans of his and this series should not miss out on this story.

We don’t really get that über-sweet happily ever after in this book. However, we do get a solid happy for now. A new beginning, but honestly to me that’s even more valuable and believable and more than well-deserved.

Great Resolution to Ian's Story and Series Main Plotline

With an emotional , high energy and entertaining narration Kenneth Obi delivered us Devour , Ian Pierce's story .

Devour is book 4 in the Unbreakable Bonds series and the conclusion of Jagger's plotline that began with Shiver , book 1 . I am satisfied with the resolution of Jagger's narrative.

Also, I'm happy with what is happening and the glimpse , Jocelyn Drake and Linda Elliot gave us , into the future of Ian and Hollis, Lucas and Andrei, Snow and Jude and even with Rowe and Noah .

I was surprised and very pleased when I read this series is not finished yet! We will get more stories from these wonderful group of friends and lovers.

This series is worthy of your valuable Audible credits. LOL😁😊 I'm a credit hoarder 🙈😜 I treat them like gold. 💖😍🎧📚

Steamy and suspenseful

This series just gets better and better. You do have to read in order. Devour is the 4th book and takes up where Torch ended.
This is also Ian and Hollis’s story. I adore Ian and he is like the glue in all four books. There is a lot of action, some twists and lots of sexiness!
Kenneth Obi brings this great story to life with his voices. Lucas’ voice is so sexy it makes you Shiver (pun intended) Rowe has a tough guy Boston or Jersey type accent and Hollis has a southern, Georgia accent. You can discern all men just buy the voices. Kenneth also acts out the emotion, like sighing, chuckling and OH The bad guys' chuckle makes my skin crawl! He makes it more than listening to a book being read to you but listening to a play or movie.

Yes!! Amazing!

Now this is the one I have been waiting for. I just love Ian and I have been wanting his happy ending after all that he has been through. So I am so happy for Ian and Hollis story! I just couldn't stop listening was I started. And Kenneth Odi just made it so much better! I couldn't get enough of listening to him as he narrated this one. He has just been so perfect for this whole series and I can't tell you how much I love this one. He brings so much life to this story that I can't help but fall in love with all these characters all over again.

Having trouble .....

I love this series ..... especially this book. Have enjoyed all the other audibles but regretfully I am having a hard time listening to this audible. The narrator has a nice voice ..... the problem I am having he has the same "voice" for ALL the characters in the story (my opinion, others might disagree). Because of this it sounds like the same character in the story talking all the time. Would have preferred more of a voice variation between characters ... didn't notice this in the other audible books.

A wild ride

Drake and Elliott’s 4th book in the Unbreakable Bonds series ties many loose ends together. It is gripping and engaging. Obi has done a masterful job of making these fascinating characters jump to life. He also was able to draw deep emotional ranges. Truly a masterful narration.

Another fantastic book in the series

I've really enjoyed all of this series. This finds family are so lovely to be around and Ian has always been my favourite, so I loved seeing him get his HEA. Once again, everyone's story line moved on. The plot was exciting and kept me in the edge of my seat.
Kenneth Obi did a fantastic job and was truly menacing. I'm kinda scared of him now 😂. He's such a great narrator and I love his take on these characters.

Ian’s Happy Ever After ❤️

At last we get Ian’s story and it’s well worth the wait.
This series has been one of the best I’ve listened to in a long while and I love the dynamics between the characters and the storyline that runs throughout the four books.
Kenneth Obi’s narration has been spot on and he has become one of my go to narrators since being introduced to him through the authors. I hope he continues to narrate for them.
