Publisher's summary

Born on the wrong side of the tracks, Royce Locke is no stranger to scrapping and fighting for the things he wants. What he desires most is Sawyer Key - his partner on the force and the man he's falling in love with. After asking Sawyer to take a chance on him, Royce will need to back up his pretty words with fearless action instead of being his own worst enemy.

Someone is harassing the mayor of Savannah, and Locke and Key are tasked with finding out who. The investigation quickly takes a twisted turn, leading them to an enemy who thinks purification by fire is the only way to save the city. Scarier than The Purists' elusiveness is their ability to turn public opinion in their favor, creating unrest and threatening anarchy by fanning flames and fear.

When menace becomes murder, the two detectives will race the clock against the devil to save their beloved city from becoming a raging inferno. Royce will need to draw on his grit now more than ever if he hopes to realize the dreams that are finally within reach. The rag is lit, the Molotov cocktail is tossed, and the zero hour is upon them. Challenge received and accepted.

Contains mature themes.

📖 Story comment: Good pace, entertaining story, interesting characters.
I'm enjoying this series the more I get into it. The character development is good and i'm enjoying getting to know more of why Royce is the way he is.
I've listened to all three books in this series (plus the Sinister in Savannah spin-off) back to back and enjoyed them all.

🎧 Narrator comment: Tristan James can be a narrator you either enjoy or don't. Personally I love him, I go through phases where he's just what I need in a narrator. I enjoyed his reading of this series and the Sinister in Savannah Series spin-off and will happily listen to them again.

Great 2nd book in this series!

I love this series. I am writing this review after listening to all the books available on audio, in the greater "Savannah" world created by the author. I finished the last book and then relistened to this trilogy again because I had to revisit how it all started and I think it was better on my 2nd time listening. I really love all the characters and the mystery aspect is interesting and engaging. I like how each book has continual and personal, plot lines that have run through out and each of them enriches the characters as they deal with the evolutions of whatever they are. The 1st book was from the POV of Sawyer and this book switched to the POV of Royce and It's nice to see who he is from his own thoughts and actions. All of thee books have been added to my TBR-Again pile, even though I have already re-listened to a few of them.

Even better than book 1

Devil’s Hour was a fantastic story. I could not for the life of me figure out who the bad guy was which I loved!! I’m very much enjoying how Royce and Sawyer’s relationship keeps evolving. These two are bringing the best out in each other! I love the snark and banter between these guys.

Locke & Key For Always

It just keeps getting better. This book is all from Royce’s POV. We get to know him more, as he peels his layers, revealing more details about himself, his background, his past, his partnership with Marcus.

Royce & Sawyer’s relationship keeps getting stronger too. I adore these two. I love how solid and palpable their bond is.

This book has a lot of action, there’s mystery and unique set of conflict. The pacing is excellent. The supporting characters are wonderful, with the exception of Bennett, that little turd.

Tristan James did good with his narration.

Devil’s Hour

The chemistry between Royce and Sawyer is off the charts, In this book I loved this side of Royce He really shows Sawyer that He is all in. He wants him and he is so good at his relationship...damn Hot I love his Possessive side! The scene at the bar where he out himself for Sawyer shows his feelings. This book is really great, has a lot action and the mystery has you on alert and of course the great supporting characters. Tristan James does a great job with the narration.

Who is Royce really in a relationship with?

Am I the only one who was bothered by one of the MC running off to play house with his dead best friends wife? He’s suppose to be in a relationship but he steps in as a new “father” to three kids and a new “husband” to a widow. And this situation is never addressed as problematic, everyone just accepts it. Sorry, but if I had a partner who had a “family,” they wouldn’t be my partner anymore.

The first book was better and I’m debating on getting the third. I don’t like cheating even if it’s emotional cheating. When Royce stepped in to play daddy, I expected some conflict about it in the first book. But here we are in the second book and he’s still doing it.

The plot was just okay,
