“From here on out here’s how it’s going to go. I play. You play. Don’t hit on me. Don’t flirt with me. Understood?"

Handsome, charismatic, and blessed with a voice that brings thousands of fans to their knees, Trent Donovan is a walking cliché. But he has another thing coming if he thinks he can charm his way into my panties.

I don’t care if he’s rich and famous because I’m not here to bag a rock star. I’m here to pave my own way. To prove I belong center stage.

There’s just one problem.

The more time I spend on the road with the band, the more I realize Trent’s nothing like the arrogant playboy I expected. We share a love of music, and if I’m honest so much more.

I came on this tour to follow my dreams, but if I’m not careful he’s bound to lead them off track - right along with my heart.

The books in the Off Track Records series are interconnected stand-alone romance novels, and can be listened to in any order.

I loved every word and every minute of this book. I am a huge fan of rock star romance books and I must say Kacey Shea rocked my socks off with this awesome novel. She is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style and the story and characters she creates, they are realistic, likable and easy to relate to. The storylines grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. I adored the two leads, Lexi and Trent, as well as his bandmates, Sean Willis and Austin Jones. Trent Donavan is the lead singer of “Three Ugly Guys” he is a player who loves all the women his rock star status brings his way. I loved the camaraderie amongst the bandmates, also loved his relationship with his Mom and a member of his anatomy too, LOL. When the band’s manager tells them they needed to bring in a permanent drummer and that it had to be a female, they come up with a compromise, to keep Iz on as the drummer for their upcoming tour and bring in a female as the opener. That is how Lexi Marx, a new solo artist is joined the tour. Once the boys met her and saw how gorgeous she was they made a pact and deemed her off limits. I loved how everything plays out in this book, Lexi’s determination to succeed on her own, how she and Trent click and start to bond and then learning more about each other, building trust and a friendship which is not easy for Lexi, because of her past and her issues. It was great to see her grow even more as a person by the end, also great to see Trent evolve and change his playboy ways. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is beautifully plotted and flows naturally with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some great humor and laugh out loud moments, plenty of heartfelt ones and some hot loving and a wonderful romance. Kacey Shea, thank you for this brilliant story, the emotional rollercoaster ride and for casting the perfect narrators to bring your story to life aurally.

Jason Clark and Lessa Lamb are talented narrators and voice artists. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to live giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions and in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen, special shout out to Lessa who rocks out some melodic vocals.

What a great start to Shea's new Off Track Records series! This is a captivating, sexy, and emotional rock-star romance about the members of the rock band, Three Ugly Guys. They are headlining their first tour and need to bring on a female opening act to soften their image. Lexie is a talented singer/song writer. She doesn't want to be associated with her rock god, absentee father, wanting instead to make it on her own. She has seen the ugly side of the business and refuses to fall for a musician or be like her mother. Trent is the front man of 3UG and is a total man whore. Despite his carefree rock-star persona, he is thoughtful and caring for his family and those around him. Lexie is off limits to everyone but that doesn't stop the band from including her in their crazy pranks. They all have an easy rapport and have fun on the road together. But Lexie and Trent have a fiery chemistry that is explosive. No matter how hard they fight their attraction, it becomes impossible to deny. They really have fun together and Trent is so protective of her. But life on the road isn't easy and when other's start to interfere, along with Lexie's past resurfacing, will it all be too much to endure? Shea did a great job weaving a sensual and emotional story that gave me all the feels. It has heart and heat from the beginning to end and I loved it all, especially because of the wonderful narration by Jason Clarke and Lessa Lamb. They were such a great team, with complimenting voices. I loved their tone, inflection, and Lamb's singing was absolutely beautiful! They really embodied these characters and made me totally fall for Trent, Lexie, and all the band members. I really enjoyed this first book in the Off Track Records series and can't wait for more from 3UG!

Love the beginning of this rockstar series by the fabulous Kacey Shea. Trent and Lexi ended up being everything I want in a super talented & super sexy couple!! I couldn't help but laugh at the antics of the side characters, especially Trent's mom. And cry at some of the difficult things Lexi had to battle throughout this book. I wasn't sure if I could get past Trent's man whoring ways in the beginning, but I was happy I stuck it out. Absolutely perfection bringing Lexi and Trent to life through narration by Lessa Lamb and Jason Clarke <3

I absolutely loved this audio! The narrators were fantastic! I'd never listened to a book narrated by Lessa Lamb, but that will be changing for sure!

The storyline pulled me in and kept on the edge of my seat! I can't wait for the rest of this series to come out on audio!

Excellent start to the series

This book was everything!! I loved the story, I loved the characters and I loved both narrators! The story was so well written. The only thing I wanted was more of their story. I’m sure we’ll hear about them in the rest of the series but it felt like there could’ve been more for them. I can’t wait to get to the next book in this series!
Also, I love Trent’s mom. She brought so much humor to this story. I hope she is just as present for the rest of the books but I’m sure they’ll all be great. I may have found a new favorite author!

This was perfect!!!

🛡️ Audiobook Review:

Genre: Rockstar Romance | Narrators: Jason Clarke & Lessa Lamb
Series: Off Track Records, Book 1

🎸 Hero Spotlight: Trent Donovan

Trent Donovan is the kind of rockstar who got into music for all the wrong reasons—and it worked. Fame, guitars, and a revolving door of groupies were his high school dream, and by 28, he’s living it as the cocky, charismatic frontman of “Three Ugly Guys.” But beneath the swagger and smirks, there’s a growing weariness. The endless parade of women who sound the same, act the same, and mistake performative sexiness for actual connection is starting to grate on him. He’s not just bored—he’s disillusioned.

Trent’s cynicism doesn’t stop him from sleeping around, but it does reveal cracks in his rockstar armor. He’s fiercely loyal to his band, protective of his mom, and—surprisingly—deeply skeptical of the label’s push for a female drummer. He sees it as a PR stunt waiting to implode, so the band sticks with their older roadie instead. Trent may be a jerk, but he’s not stupid. And when Lexi Marks enters the picture, his protective instincts kick in hard.

🎤 Heroine Spotlight: Lexi Marks

Lexi Marks is the kind of heroine you root for from the first page. Scrappy, talented, and stubbornly independent, she’s grinding away at a coffee shop while chasing her dream of making it in music. Rejection has been her constant companion, but it hasn’t broken her—it’s sharpened her resolve. She refuses to use connections or favors to get ahead, even when they’re available. Lexi wants to earn her place, not borrow it.

When she finally lands a meeting with a real agent, hope flickers to life. Her music is everything—her identity, her lifeline—and this tour opportunity feels like the break she’s been waiting for. But Lexi has a secret, one her agent knows and promises to keep under wraps. She wants to be judged on her talent, not her past. And when the band finds out, NDAs are signed and lips are sealed. Still, comparisons to a certain pop princess sting, and Lexi’s determination to stand on her own only intensifies.

🔥 Plot Pulse

Lexi joins the tour as the opening act, and the tension is immediate. Trent sees the way his bandmates look at her and lays down the law: Lexi is off-limits. They all agree—no hookups, no drama. But Lexi isn’t just another pretty face. She’s talented, grounded, and unimpressed by their fame. She’s not here to flirt; she’s here to sing. And that makes her more intriguing than any groupie they’ve ever met.

As the tour unfolds, Trent’s initial protectiveness morphs into something deeper. He starts to see Lexi not as a complication, but as a revelation. She challenges his assumptions, calls out his arrogance, and refuses to be dazzled by his rockstar persona. And slowly, Trent begins to change—not because Lexi wants him to, but because he wants to be someone worthy of her.

💘 What Hit Home

• Trent’s freakishly long tongue is a quirky detail that somehow works—equal parts weird and memorable.
• His complicated relationship with women is frustrating but layered. He’s jaded, yes, but not heartless. His love for his mom and his growing respect for Lexi show that he’s capable of more.
• Watching Trent shift from dismissive to protective was satisfying. His treatment of Lexi—gentle, respectful, and real—felt earned.

😬 Room to Grow

• Lexi’s constant lip ring biting and twisting felt juvenile. It was a tic that pulled me out of the moment and made her seem younger than she is. Less high school angst, more grown-up grit, please.

🎧 Narration Vibes

The dual narration elevated this audiobook. Jason Clarke delivers his usual magic—gravelly, sexy, and emotionally textured. He nails Trent’s cockiness and vulnerability with equal finesse, and his ability to switch voices and accents keeps the cast distinct and dynamic.

Lessa Lamb was a delightful surprise. Her voice has a raspy edge that suits Lexi’s singer-songwriter vibe perfectly. She sounds youthful but not immature, and her emotional delivery made Lexi’s struggles and triumphs feel personal. I’ll be looking for more of her work.

📝 Final Thoughts

This audiobook hits the sweet spot between rockstar romance and emotional redemption. Trent’s journey from jaded player to protective partner is compelling, and Lexi’s grit and grace make her a heroine worth cheering for. The narration adds depth and texture, making this a tour worth taking—lip ring quirks and all.

Hi! I am Kacey Shea, the author of Detour. I could not be more satisfied with this audiobook production and I'm so happy to bring this and the rest of my Off Track Records novels to audio.
Jason Clarke nails the humorous banter between bandmates as well as Trent's inner monologue with such an honest performance. His ability to create distinctive character voices and maintain them throughout is impressive. He's such a standout narrator.
Lessa Lamb is one of my new favorite female narrators. When I heard her for the first time last year, I instantly knew she's be perfect for this book. She delivers Lexi's confidence and snark, but also a vulnerability that is so touching. Lessa and Jason's narration styles compliment each other so well!
If you love enemies-to-lovers, steamy rom coms, and outstanding narration, then I think you're going to enjoy this book.

Music to my ears!

I chose this book because the narrators are amazing! It did not take me long to get completely lost in the story. I like the dynamic of the band members. Trent is an awesome book boyfriend, even if he starts out as an oversexed rock star (nothing wrong with abundant sex with consenting adults), but when he meets Lexi the stars align and it's a beautiful thing! Lexi has baggage and protects herself by building walls. It takes someone like Trent to break down those walls. I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and the romance is hot stuff!

Narration is everything I would expect from my favorites. All of the emotion, the humor, and the evolving love story comes through in beautiful performances by both narrators!

Excellent rock star romance!

I really enjoyed this fun, sexy rockstar romance. Loved the chemistry between Trent and Lexi and the band!

Jason Clarke did a fantastic job with Trent, conveying the right amount of cocky rockstar - I could totally picture Trent’s body language throughout! Lessa Lamb is a new to me narrator and she was perfect for Lexi, the minute she started speaking I was hooked - exactly how I think a female rockstar should sound!

Lexi is an up-and-coming musician, who is getting gigs on her own merit by distancing herself from her famous rockstar father. In fact, her parentage is a well guarded secret. Lexi is thrilled when she is invited to open for the hugely successful rock band, Three Ugly Guys, on their upcoming tour. Life is about to get interesting. Trent is the lead singer of the band, and is a manwh*re. He isn’t thrilled about having a ‘girl’ open for them but the record label is insistent. Then he meets the sexy Lexi and figures that life will be good. Except, Lexi is off limit...and she appears to be indifferent about him anyway. This tour should be great! Can Trent wear down Lexi’s resolve and start something or will her emotional baggage be too much to overcome?
This book elicits all the feels...you will laugh, cry, be angry and cheering for this couple. A great piece of literary work. Even if you’re not a fan of this genre, give it a try...this book just may change your mind. The narration team does an excellent job portraying the characters and immerses you in the book and rockstar culture.
I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
