Excellent Series

Another thrilling three stories of murder and the reasoning behind them.
DI Janssen's character is evolving and that of his team and you are taken into their world as well. The author has a sense of "being human" and shows this in the stories which I found made them more realistic that personal touch that people have. Again the narration was fantastic.

Among the BEST

Totally great British detective stories with exceptional narration. Characters are real people with real personalities and reactions to life. Stories are believable and intriguing; hard to stop listening.

Series really went downhill.

These three books focus more on Tom's private life than the mysteries/crimes. Way too much Alice and Saphie and sadly in book #6 Dalgliesh had an opportunity to fade out the two characters but it didn't happen. Tom's character seemed to completely change and he was not longer the thoughtful, good looking guy that appeared to have an easygoing nature. I would not recommend these books unless you want a stories bordering on a cozy mystery (yeah there were many parts that were just to cutsey). The narration was superb and that is what kept me going (that and I paid way too much for the purchase).

Could have had a better ending

Ever since Alice was introduced, I cannot stand her. Annoying character, and she should have been the killer in this story. It would have made for a much better ending.
