Practical wisdom for dealing with depression.

Depression - whether circumstantial and fleeting or persistent and long term - impacts most people at some point in their lives. Puritan Pastor Richard Baxter spent most of his ministry caring for depressed and discouraged souls, and his timeless counsel still speaks to us today. In this book, psychiatrist Michael S. Lundy and theologian J. I. Packer present Baxter’s writings in order to comfort, instruct, and strengthen all who struggle with depression.

it was my first read, will share more on second read. I really wanted to listen to the author.

This book contains the most soothing comfort and the soundest advice for believers suffering with depression and anxiety that I’ve ever found. It teems with scriptural encouragement and godly wisdom and also includes some much needed reality checks to help get you out of your funk. Heed the contents of this book and be greatly helped on the Way, troubled brothers and sisters. (Skip ahead to Part II for the healing content, as Part I just introduces Richard Baxter—return to Part I later if you’re interested, but I’d think an analytical biography isn’t what your soul is thirsting for right now…)

Indispensable Aid
