Publisher's Summary

Juliette and Warner’s story continues in the thrilling fifth installment of Tahereh Mafi’s New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series.

Juliette Ferrars isn’t who she thinks she is.

Nothing in her world is what it seemed. She thought she’d finally defeated the Reestablishment. She thought she’d finally taken control of her life, her power, and her pain. But Juliette has only just begun to unravel a lifetime of lies, and she finds herself faced with a familiar choice:

Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

This time, she’s not alone. Stronger, braver, and more resilient than ever, Juliette will fight for life and love with her friends by her side—but first, she has to survive the war being waged against her mind:

She has to remember who she was.

Narrated by Juliette, Warner, and Kenji Kishimoto, this gripping novel perfectly sets the stage for the highly anticipated forthcoming conclusion to the Shatter Me series.

Eh

Audio certainly made this book more enjoyable in my opinion but I did not enjoy it. Too many convient circumstances, bad pacing, and a dump of information in the latter half of the book.

Not a fan of the romance and little action. Certainly, some funny moments but I would not recommend this book. Wish I gave up at Ignite Me but I feel too invested at this point.

Nothing much happened...

Nothing much noteworthy happened in this volume. And I've forgiven the hundreds of plot holes in this story including the overly dramatic and whiny heroine. However, to reveal that the main villain from the previous books is actually alive and kicking is just,,, *face palm* There are many other plausible villains the author can use to develop the story further but to use the "old villain is still alive" cliche makes this continuation hard to stomach. Sometimes, it's best to keep dead people dead and move on!

Very disappointed

This would have been a decent story had it been three volumes instead of 5 and counting, I have decided that this is being written just like a TV series that goes on and on as long as people keep watching. How many times will Juliette be captured? How many more times will she be betrayed? How many more times does she make a miraculous escape?

What I wanted, what I expected, was for this book to be the conclusion.

I also feel a bit cheated: I pay as much for this 7 hour books as I do for a volume of Outlander or Game of Thrones, which might be 40 hours.

Over it

He past two books have been fillers with no excitement no substance and no plot...the first three books were great but this is a classic example of just leaving well enough alone.

unsatisfied

This book was very short with no real meat of a story to it. Very unlike prior books.

Great narration!

This was so good! I love that we got Juliette, Warner, and Kenji's points of view and a different narrator for each one. I love having multiple narrators because it's easy to keep track of who is speaking and feels more like I'm in the story.Rotating also helped keep the story moving and me engaged.
There were a lot of flashbacks, but it was so nice to piece things together and finally understand what's going on. Warner and Juliette are seriously my favorite YA couple, they love each other so much and this story just reinforced that they are made for each other. It didn't drag at all, in fact I wish it was longer! The ending was so hopeful for once lol and I'm so excited to see how it all ends in the last book!

LOVED IT! ---spoiler ahead

I absolutely love this series and this book was no exception.
Tahereh is a master of perfection, she knows exactly how to keep the reader engaged, I couldn't put this freaking book down. I really enjoyed how the author managed tie together all the strings setting the ground for the very last installment -I'm not crying, you're crying, we're probably all crying to be honest.
A lot went down in this book, and I have to admit we were gifted with some epic scenes! All the flashbacks were also perfectly inserted in the story, and now we know why the characters we grew to love are the way they are, and I speak for myself when I say that all these backstories made me love them even more.
Mafi has this ability to paint with her words gorgeous landscapes, terrifying evil minds, romantic moments and hilarious conversations, making the story super easy to follow and almost movie-like.
As if this review wasn't long enough here's a brief list of some of my favorite "WTF" or "fan girl" moments:
1). Ella and Warner have known one another for forever and no matter how many times their memories were erased they'd always find a way back to each other
2) Anderson is alive, and he can't freaking die cos he had Ella's evil birth mom, (who not only is the supreme commander of Oceania, but also happens to be a ruthless scientist) with regenerating cells,
3) Kenji and Nazeera have a thing, finally, after all this time spent being the perfect human he is, Kenji gets a love interest (they have to get together, that's it, I won't accept a different ending for them, they are meant to be)
4). Emeleen in the tank, well that was intense
5). Castle-gang back in action, sign me up
6). Warner's birthday party and I'm done
