Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal best seller

A missing woman leads the alpha heroes on their boldest mission yet in New York Times best-selling author Susan Stoker’s searing Mountain Mercenaries novel.

It’s been 10 years since Rex’s wife, Raven, disappeared from a Vegas casino. Never losing hope, he even formed the Mountain Mercenaries to help find her - and other missing wives, sisters, and children. Now Rex and his fearless team are following a lead to Lima, Peru, where the rescue operation is greater than they imagined.

A day at a time. That’s been Raven’s motto for a decade. Once held captive by an elusive sex trafficker, she has an indomitable will to survive. But Raven’s not ready to leave Peru. She can’t. Not yet. Because her liberation from the barrios comes with devastating consequences. One wrong move and all hope will be lost to an unimaginable hell.

For the Mountain Mercenaries, the stakes have been raised. The threats are escalating. But Rex hasn’t searched this long, risked so much, and come this far to lose Raven all over again.

Awesome!!!!

I love all Stoker books but of the books that have come out since Shelter for Penelope this is my favorite. Holy smokes. Without giving too much away, it is slightly different with so much of the book taking place away from home and the road to togetherness isn’t smooth at all despite finding each other early on but soo worth the rough ride. I always hate when a series ends but this was a great series finisher letting us in on years later for Raven & Dave but also clueing in to the fact that the other mercenaries and families are thriving. Well done!!! Loved it. When I started this series this book was not listed as coming soon so I wasn’t sure we’d get Rex’s story. I’m SO glad we did!

Great ending to this series!

I have been looking forward to this book since the preview at the end of ‘Zara’...and was not disappointed!! Lots of bad guys and drama but the Mountain Mercenaries came through in the end and Rex/Dave finally got his wife back! The extended epilogue put a neat bow on the series. Narrator’s work on all of the characters helped to make this a series ending to remember.

FINALLY!

While the running time of 10hrs. and 21 mins was a little long, this book was good. The subject matter (sex trafficking) was totally disgusting & we know that it does happen. I liked this one because unlike other books on this subject the trafficker met a little justice & the people responsible for giving it to him didn't whine or feel bad about it, SEX TRAFFICKERS OF WOMEN & CHILDREN DESERVE NO SYMPHATHY!

Best book ever! Period.

I love Susan stokers books but I think she out did herself with this story on every level. Do yourself a favor and read the series in order then settle in fir this final book and just experience every emotion humans have inside them. Enjoy every moment. Then hug someone in your life and love them more. Yes, it’s that good. Thank you for the privilege of reading, listening to this story. I’m humbled and in awe.

Saved the Best for Last!

Saving the Best for last! I loved it! This nicely rounds out the series and we get to see a lot of the characters. I figured out a few things (Dave) but others I was surprised then pleased and in awe of the results. There are a few scenes in here that I absolutely loved but I don’t want to give anything away so I will leave you guessing. Both characters are outstanding and this is one of my favorites. Stella Bloom does a great job narrating. Sad to see the series go but I can always re-listen!

Stretched too long

I’ve listened to so many of the Susan Stoker books, and by far, this one is the most “fluff” filled of all.
At least three chapters of this book could have been cut out due to repeated sentences and repeated thoughts and lines by the characters.
The story had great potential given that the mountain mercenaries finally find it who their leader was.
But…. When a book gets so predictable that the reader can recite the up coming next line (without ever having read the book before) that’s when you know that the cheesy factor is over the top.
It’s time to take a break from this author.. or at least until she once again can tell a story.

💉Gloom n Doom!

📍Not my cup of tea Stoker fans! What happened to the romance?

Instead, this book deals with pedophiles on an intense level. UHHH! (I could barely get though it!)

The story starts of ok but by the 12th chapter I had to advance the story just to get through it. I didn't find this one sexy or intriguing...just heart wrenching and hopeless! OMG!

This story didn't make much sense to me. Ravens character must be really really dense to go with a stranger at the casino in Vegas with 1000's of people around her!!!! (even if the kidnappers threaten to hurt Dave - Dave is a brick Shit house with Arms like RAMBO! Come on folks!) Raven could have gone limp straight out of the bathroom and then started screaming to draw attention! Everybody's got a mobile device these days with a camera and woudl have helped her while shooting video and calling 911 - so her "Taken" moment just didn't fly with me!

Other parts that didn't make any sense ....Once Raven was free from her captor and left in the barrio, she could have walked to the American consult at that moment and received help (but she didn't - Whaaaa?)

I understand why she was "wanted" to stay temporarily, but she could have been secure with "back up" to rain down on the bad guys....but did not...again! UHHH!

If she knew Del Rio was head KING PIN and there was not getting around him - her only way out... was to escape to the US and come back with HELP ( aka- the good guys!) ...but she didn't!

Del Rio could have killed her and her amigas at any point - since he was so powerful and basically RAN the town. Honestly - how did she think she would slip one over on him???

All of the other Mt Merc books were Fun, exciting, thrilling and Sexy. I found this particular book highly depressing....NOT a feel good listen!

Sorry Susan - hard pass on this one!

Great job narrating Stella!!!! Always amazing!!

The search is on Stoker fans! Susan, please make more Mt Merc books with new characters - these guys ROCK!

- Namaste!!!

Best book of the series!

This is by far the best book of the entire series of Mountain Mercenaries! It’s been such a great series and seeing how everything is tied together it’s amazing. Susan Stoker is so fantastic in weaving all the stories together and dropping subtle clues in each of the books. I laughed and cried reading this story and can’t wait to re-listen to the series all over again knowing how it ends!

Loved

I enjoy listening to Stella Bloom,

This is the final book in the series of Mountain Mercenaries. Have to say I loved this series.

This is the story of Dave and Raven ..... It will make you want to scream at what could happen and cry with the joy of out come.

Raven was kidnapped and not heard for 10 years. Dave never gave up hope . With the help of her Mountain Mercenaries he finds and brings home his one love.. oh they have problems to over come.

I love how Susan Stoker also lets us know what happens to the other team mates and their women.

Perfect book to end on for this brilliant series.

Great story

Really enjoyed the story but feel it would have been better with a male narrator.

A satisfying sweet end to the series

Loved every book in the series. Riding the highs and lows, living the horror and joy has been an adventure. Excellent voice range from a wonderful narrator. Thank you Susan Stoker

fitting end to this series

wow, now this was an 80% ops story and it was awesome to have the team and other familiar characters in play.
again the best in this series i felt was book 1 and this one runs a close 2nd.
Stella was awesome as usual.
I felt it dragged a bit here and there but I have to remember that it's Ms Stoker's style to give you all POVs which gives you all the details in play.
it was a pretty horrendous topic and ravens story was gut wrenching but in typical hero and romance fashion, she pulled through.
I must say though, David's finals speech was a bit of a shock.....no spoilers....I was just surprised it was written in...
